Hey, here's something I realized... (something I realized quite a while ago, but just now thought of mentioning)... Of course the obvious answer to how old your dæmon is would be to say your own age, and this is a fact, but has anyone ever considered that their dæmon maybe... doesn't seem their age? It's difficult to imagine how your dæmon would act if human, but I used to have trouble giving Rookie's mentality an "age group." He didn't seem to be a teen like me, but neither was he mature enough to be an adult... Then I realized that Tobias (my Oxford self) is a year older than me, and this seems to fit Rookie perfectly. He's lived almost seventeen years right alongside me, but mentally he's a bit older... like an eighteen-year old. =) Does this idea work for anyone else?

Definetely. My Oxford counterpart, Julian, is three years older than me - seventeen. Pocket has never truly acted like a fourteen-year-old. And in Oxford, Julian's dæmon Shameira always seems a little more immature than him (but not in a bad way ^^). That theory makes a LOT of sense to me.

Good theory. My Oxford-self, Sylvie, is about nineteen or twenty, and I was trying to come up for a logical explanation for that.
Darkett seems to be like a sterotypical university student in his behaviour: the mind and wisdom of an adult, hard-working but not motivated, and acting crazy every now and then. So this fits, I guess.
Generally, dæmons are wise(r than their humans). I wonder how this fits in.

How does this work? Does your daemon age faster, or was he simply born already older than you? If so, where did those first years go?

Mental age of three.
No, seriously... I always thought of him as being a very mature seventeen year old.

But then, when they were born, their dæmon would have been much less advanced mentally and ... blech, I'm confused. It's so hard to say because none of us have really known our dæmons ALL our lives. Okibi?

Well, I'm not sure of Rho's mental age. He sometimes acts likea two year old, but then acts as if he's 50....
But that question. Well, people's mental ages vary within the same age group. Some 14 year olds act like 9 year olds, and some act like thier 30. If it works like that with humans, then it probably works like that with daemons.

For the Oxford counterparts that're older, I'd imagine their dæmon would just be depend on the human for personality those first few years. (The largest gap I know of for certain is you and Julian, Cat.) A really young dæmon is just there for comfort and the sake of existing, anyway. It's not like a three-year old dæmon would have some thought-provoking conversation with the toddler... :P Once the human and dæmon in OUR world emerged, their dæmon would probably began to show signs of its own personality and 'level of maturity.' Sound right?

My daemon acts a lot older than I am, I'm thinking he'd be in his early 20s, for sure, and my Oxford-self is at least the same age as him, because I believe they're the same being. Anyways. I think this is because, as a 14 year old, I usually act very mature and not like the typical teenager. Gag. I'm just way past that.
