::squee:: I love that song!! ^_^ (Though I'm used to a different version.) I've never looked at it as a song about dæmons before, though it certainly fits. =) Whenever Rookie sings that, he's thinking about my boyfriend and his lioness dæmon. Heh.

Minnie Riperton's songs are soooooooo beautiful. A few of them, at least for the most part, are wonderful songs. Take these:
Lovin' You
Lovin' you is easy cause you're beautiful Makin' love with you is all I wanna do Lovin' you is more than just a dream come true And everything that I do is out of lovin' you La la la la la la la... do do do do do
No one else can make me feel The colors that you bring Stay with me while we grow old And we will live each day in springtime Cause lovin' you has made my life so beautiful And every day my life is filled with lovin' you
Lovin' you I see your soul come shinin' through And every time that we oooooh I'm more in love with you La la la la la la la... do do do do do
No one else can make me feel The colors that you bring Stay with me while we grow old And we will live each day in springtime Cause lovin' you is easy cuz your beautiful And every day my life is filled with lovin' you
Lovin' you I see your soul come shinin' through And every time that we oooooh I'm more in love with you La la la la la la la... do do do do do
Inside my Love [And this in raunchy, people!!!!]
Two people, just meeting Barely touching each other Two spirits greeting Trying to carry it further You are one and I am another We should be one inside each other
You can see inside me Will you come inside me? Do you wanna ride inside my love? You can see inside me Will you come inside me? Do you wanna ride inside my love?
Two strangers, not strangers only lacking the knowing So willing, feeling, infinite growing
While we're here the whole world is turning We should be one Fulfilling our yearning
You can see inside me Will you come inside me? Do you wanna ride inside my love? You can see inside me Will you come inside me? Do you wanna ride inside my love?
There are more...many more that I could use, but I'm not finding them easy. Minnie Ripperton was an amazing vocalist and even though she died at 31 years old of breast cancer, she is one of my favorite all time recorders. Her music is incredible, and her voice... *melts*

This song speaks for itself....
The Sound of Settling - Death Cab for Cutie
i've got a hunger twisting my stomach into knots that my tongue was tied off
my brain's repeating "if you've got an impulse let it out" but they never make it past my mouth.
baa bah, this is the sound of settling baa bah, baa bah (x2)
our youth is fleeting old age is just around the bend and i can't wait to go grey
and i'll sit and wonder of every love that could've been if i'd only thought of something charming to say.
baa bah, this is the sound of settling baa bah, baa bah (x4)
i've got a hunger twisting my stomach into knots.
....he hates it when I put that song. Hurry it up!!!

Bits of this don't fit, but it really speaks to me and him. Especially the 'If you ever make a mess, I'll do anything for you' line. As if. (:
For The Widows In Paradise, For The Fatherless In Ypsilanti by Sufjan Stevens
I have called you children, I have called you son. Who is their to answer if I'm the only one? Morning comes in paradise, morning comes in light. Still I must obey, still I must invite.
If there's anything to say, If there's anything to do, If there's any other way, I'll do anything for you.
I was dressed embarassment. I was dressed in wine. If you had a part of me, will you take your time? Even if I come back, even if I die. Is there some idea to replace my life?
Like a father to impress, like a mother's mourning dress If you ever make a mess, I'll do anything for you.
I have called you preacher; I have called you son. If you have a father or if you haven't one.
I'll do anything for you, I'll do anything for you, I'll do anything for you, I'll do anything for you I did everything for you, I did everything for you, I did everything for you, I did everything for you, I did everything for you, I did everything for you.

If You Leave is a remake of a song by Orchestral Manouevres in the Dark, this crazy early 80's band. (Don't stare, it's on the Pretty in Pink soundtrack. xX) Also, Your Song PWNS MY WORLD. ^^ Moulin Rouge is the best. Falel and I only have sad songs, apparently. ;_; Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls is one he loves to sing to me (::will eventually post the lyrics::), and for some odd reason odd bits from throughout American Idiot (The album, not the song). I'll just put it on and every once in a while he'll lean over and sing in my ear. ^^ Does your dæmon have a particular singing form? Falel always used to be feline, before he quite changing. A snow leopard for anything by Billy Talent, bobcat for nearly anything else. (He says he isn't settled.. I'm not sure I believe him.)

Hmmmmm... "Personal Jesus" by Depache Mode reminds me of him kinda. I don't know why, because I usually despise religious songs, but maybe it just makes me think of him because I was talking to him when I first heard the song and now the memory's stuck. I think that might be why. I can't think of any other songs right now, but I know "Jerk it Out" is Kili's favorite song ever. You know, that one song from the iPod shuffle commercial?
...then you jerk it out! Duh nananana da nanananana!
He likes doing backflips when dancing to it, for some reason.

That one song. . . great, just lost it. It'll come back to me, but the song "The truth about heaven" by Armor For Sleep sort of describes how the human-daemon connection after death works. As described in his dark materials anyway.
