I know there have been several topics covering different aspects of daemon names, but I couldn't find the thread I was looking for so I thought I'd make a new one. Does your daemon's name have a meaning? I just did a search on Kael's name because I wanted to see what it meant, and came up with 'Mighty Warrior' (In Celtic/Gaelic). Since he's a tiger and he's also a very solemn daemon, I thought it was very fitting. And I'm liek so tuff. >:E (Just kidding! I think! ^^;; ) What about everybody else? ~Kate

A length of cloth worn by women over the head, shoulders, and often the face.
A length of netting attached to a woman's hat or habit, worn for decoration or to protect the head and face.
The part of a nun's headdress that frames the face and falls over the shoulders.
The life or vows of a nun.
A piece of light fabric hung to separate or conceal what is behind it; a curtain.
Something that conceals, separates, or screens like a curtain: a veil of secrecy.
How boring. Heh. I always thought of Veil's name as refering to the veil between the world of human and faery.

I came up with jovofer when I was playing around with an English-Esperanza translator, it's a rearrangement of the word for 'locomotive,' if I remember correctly.
Searching for 'jovofer' on google comes up with nothing, but 'jov' apparently means:
Supplanter
n : one who wrongfully or illegally seizes and holds the place of another [syn: usurper]
Nice.
Oh, and, hello Natalie, you're new, right?

I was inventing a language for a story I was writing, and "kili" meant "good friend". I dumped the language and the story (I might ressurect them sometime), but when I knew about my daemon, I knew his name was Kili.

I'm rather sure that Eralcobel means nothing. But Era, which is what I usually call her, has one definition of: a period marked by distinctive character or reckoned from a fixed point or event. Airy, another nickname, means light, delicate, merry or light-hearted. I think that they both work well.
Another thing that wei noticed was that Era spelled backwards with an H added to the begining is Hare. Her most common form. Wei decided on the name before I knew what her common form was.
Oooooooooooooo....... Spooky.

'Zedith' has no meaning, but 'Zed' means 'God is fair'.
I try my best.

'Darket' was a poetic form of 'dark' that I made up for a poem, but he seemed to like it, and added a 't' for style. So his name means 'dark'.

Rhokath got two results. Both from TDF. Rho apparently is a greek letter. I randomly decided to google 'Darkendale' because I randomly call him that. It's a last name. Surname...same thing right? There was something about Benidict Darkendale who's necklace was put to rest 47 times... I wasn't sure what to make of that. Soda is a type of carbonated beverage (duh) Tal stands for Typed Assembly Language. Excalibur, of course, is a sword. Bayloch came up with a lot of results, but the word was just thrown in there. It never described what it was. The best I got was 'Bayloch Limited'
