Hey, my name's Steph... I'm new ;D Well, I've had my daemon for a while... only I didn't really call him a daemon back then Anyway, I have a question (which is why I'm in this section!) how do you know what form is THE form that he's going to stay in? Does anyone have some sort of... personality sheet that you fill out to narrow it down for us or something? Its more because we're trying to figure out my friend's daemons. He's often a gray-black wolf. Thank you muchly! StephiXZed

Whatever form feels right, I guess. You could look on Okibi's site for some analyses and that might narrow it down a bit. You should first narrow down what type of animal (as in predator or prey sort of thing), I would think. Did that help any? I'm really sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Well, on a personal level, you usually just KNOW. Like nothing else feels right. Like you know the grass is green, you know the sky is blue, I know my daemon is a swan goose. hei even says that he would be angry if he were in any other form. I just can't see him any other way--and I wouldn't change that for the world.
On the other hand, welcome to the site! Nice to meet you. Name's Alison. Daemon's Tyb (Tyb: Hulloo!).
Finally, to figure out a friends daemon, you COULD do it the checklist way (I think I'll type up a checklist sheet........), OR you could just go up and ask the question "If you were an animal, what would you be?" or ask my mom. She's amazing at that. Anyways, nice to meet you!

Good even', Alison and Tyb. Nice to meet'cha. (Zed: 'Llo...)
Yeah, Zedith is almost always a big, black... wolf-dog. Like Balto. Only real-life. *Weird that he's like Balto... I've only seen that movie twice and I like Lion King better...* I really want to figure out my friend's though...
Yeah, a checklist would be really great... just to narrow it down, you know?

You just ....know, I guess. When Maddox settled, it was in a shape that I never would have really considered him settling as, but one night I just ....knew.

the problem is, what if you don't know the name of your true form?

I can see where that would be a definite problem. If someone maybe is a goffin cockatoo, and yet they've never even heard of the species. However, I have heard of a few people (Josh and Maia included) who saw their daemons become an animal they didn't know and they later discovered that they were actually real animals: a yellow throated marten and red panda. Another example is that when Kirjavi changed more frequently, he would become this really beautiful bird. He wasn't a very large bird and his feathers were a glossy bright purple in color, like violet. Then about a week later, I was looking threw a bird book one day when I came accross a bird exactly like his form. It was a Royal Starling. Kirjavi didn't settle as a starling, obviously, and so I don't know if that counts. But it was still pretty strange to find myself looking at a picture that looked exactly like him.

well it is what ever your personality is steph ( or stephony never mind i hate names ) my daemon is as you know a Artic wolf and well it just fits my personality and my life ferenstance i couldn't realy have a whale or a dolphin as my daemon since i live in colorado. but a wolf is perfect because of were i live and what i am. though were you live doesn't affect what your daemon realy is like you could live in LA and jave a wolf as a daemon and it wouldn't change a single thing. but you will know whe heis is settled and you don't realy get to choose. if i had to choose my daemon would have been a grey wolf not an artic wolf but thats how shei ended upso good luck

I never really thought that a daemon reflects where you live.....I live in a desert and Tib is a Steller's Sea Eagle--a resident of the icy lands of the far north.........

Yeah. I don't think it would matter where you live. maybe if daemons were corporeal...it would be inconvinient to have a lizard daemon in a frozen wasteland.

Well, right no it is winter kind of over here, and so, to keep warm, Haim has been being an ermine, a husky or wolf and a prairie hawqk. (actually, I have no idea if that's a hawk or some other bird of prey)
