I wouldn't call myself oh-so-wise, but I hope I can help without being one of those few members How to tell someone else really depends upon their personality, it has been said before, but it is an excellent idea to first just give them the idea or the books to read, and see how they react to "hypotheticals". Also so that we might be able to give more foucused advice, tell us a little about your dad, you don't need to write a biography or anything but which approach is best depends upon personalities (all this coming from me, when I havn't had the guts to tell anyone)

Hmmm, I would recommend in this case that you ease in, sorry to ask another set of questions, but has he read the books, is he strongly of any religion, do you think he would see your talking to your dæmon as some kind of psychological disorder? But if you don't feel like anwsering more questions (quite understandable) I'll give you the canned analysis, which is useful, but not as much so as a custom one. As I earlier stated, ease in, you seem to be doing an excellent job so far, next I would try introducing it as an idea, like "look at this really weird thing I found on the internet (if you think this might cause a negative reaction don't do that, I've tried with one person before, and that was the way I did it, sadly I got super unlucky, they thought it was REALLY weird, but since I hadn't exposed much I could just laugh and agree with them. (Dalin: you were a coward admit it. they wern't totally spooked) If they don't think it is ridiculous it would be a good idea to wait a few days then build up a bit more like "I actually kind of think that thing on that website made sense" as before if you think that would have a negitive effect don't do it. Then if all is still well spring it on them, even at the last second if they think you're nuts you can still back out and pretend to have been joking or something I hope my long message has helped a little bit! Good Luck EDIT: Be extra careful since hes protective

He hasn't read the books, he is christian And I don't think he will think it is a phycoligical disease.
I have told some of my friends though my best friend agrees with it and now has a daemon of her own but my other friend doesn't so now I am not quite sure I should tell anybody else.
Also I don't think it will have a negative effect I am just really shy.

Ooook here we go for a custom advice set (Remember most of this is my speculation from what other people have said) You should mostly follow the path I previously listed for you, but remeber to point out that its dæmon, not demon, (I added that since he is christian) Also you can probably afford to cut out some of those several day long gaps between telling him as well as worries about him thinking that you are nuts. Other than that throw caution to the winds (Wei dunno what that means so don't ask, wei (Dalin: YOU) just like it) and go for it, worst comes to worst he will think you need a shrink, who probably will tell him its actually healthy to talk to your dæmon. Oh, and DON'T put it off I let myself fall into that trap, go out and go for it! Best of luck! -Dan+Dal

My best advice for you is just keep an open mind when you talk to him.

I say tell him about the concept of daemons, then judge his reactions. If he seems to like the idea, then it seems OK to tell him, if he doesn't I don't think I 'd tell him. But yeah, I hope you didn't get hauled off to a shrink. They are no fun.
