I'm curious. Do you ever see other peoples' dæmons? By accident or on purpose ... any way. I tend to see the dæmons of my family members more than anyone else. My mum's ermine, sitting crouched on her shoulder the way Pocket does on mine; my dad's Border collie, always looking very calm and unruffled; my sister's monkey, looking around with interest from her shoulder ...
Once, I recall, I actually saw someone's dæmon without meaning to - a total stranger's. We were in Wal-Mart and the lady ahead of me in line wasn't moving. Growing impatient, Pocket snapped, "Get out of the way, woman!" or something to that effect. At once, I visualized a little bat dæmon, sitting on the woman's shoulder, flaring its wings and baring its small fangs at Pocket. Pocket was too startled by this to react. When I told Ra, her theory was that perhaps something in Oxford transferred into our world. I'm not sure, but that sounds most sensible.
Anything like that ever happened to you guys? Or do you just see friends' and family's dæmons for fun?

Actually, this has only happened to me a few times, and most of the times it was probably just a strange coincidence. I wouldn't blame it on anything in particular, but thats just me *shrug*

I'm pretty sure I put this in another thread but.....
That has happened to me. I suddenly saw my twin brother, James's daemon. The weird thing was, we both saw eachother's daemons at the same time. It was really really strange.

It's happened to me! I've seen my Dad's silver wolf dæmon a couple of times -- both times when he was in a sort of serious-not-quite-angry mood, and she was quite intimidating. I'm fairly sure that she saw me and Etirienne, too. I saw my Mum's butcherbird dæmon once, sitting on her shoulder, but that was just a sort of blink-and-he's-gone flash. But it was quite cool all the same.

(Kirryn's dæmon is an Arctic fox. Pretty sure I remember her saying that - plus the avatar looks like one.)
Rawr. I love 'seeing' other people's dæmons. =) I've written before about how I sometimes imagine how my uncle and aunt's dæmon react to certain situations. I always like to try n' see the dæmons that interest me... It's a good way to keep my brain occupied whilst bored, and part of me believes I can gain a small tidbit of insight on that person's soul - that maybe not every motion the other dæmon makes is imagined. It can also be helpful if you think you know what someone's dæmon is... like I'll envision the animal beside them, and see if that feels right.
So, yeah, I've seen other people's dæmons... usually it's on purpose, though, not an accident. One case where it WAS an accident was when I was on the bus last week. Out of nowhere I saw the girl's dæmon next to me: he was a brownish tabby cat. Then I glanced at the boy sitting in front of her, and saw his dæmon as a chipmunk. I've also decided that the girl who gets off at my stop may have a gray squirrel dæmon - it just seemed to appear one day. If these 'visions' of ours are at all accurate, that'd be amazing. =)

(*nodnod* Yepyep, Etirienne's an Arctic fox ^^)
Does anyone find that you have to be in a certain state of mind to see other people's dæmons? (If you can see 'em, I mean.) Like, when I saw my dad's dæmon, I wasn't really looking for her, it was like *kaping* there she was. Just a sort of quick glimpse while my mind was in a kind of not-thinking state.

When I told Ra, her theory was that perhaps something in Oxford transferred into our world. I'm not sure, but that sounds most sensible. But Lyra's Oxford doesn't really exist. When I read this post I was thinking about Cho and James and wondered if they were gonna post. I think it's awesome how you guys saw them at the SAME TIME--not imagining it! I mean, wow!

But Lyra's Oxford doesn't really exist. Ah, but if you apply the Theory of Quantum Existence (being that all universes/other planes of existence, once realised by an observer [for example, readers of HDM] truly do exist), it most certainly does. ^_^ Buuuut enough of that before I end up frying someone's brain @.@;

Actually, a couple of times, I'm alking in the hallway, and I blink, and I can see EVERYONE'S dæmon! It's really strange, yet totally cool. Then I blink again and they're all gone. Actually, you do have to be in a sense of mind to see things like that. It the same thing of hen my mum paints-- it's like your in a totally different world that you've created, kinda. You see, my mum has to listen to some certain music to paint. Me too, when I write. It changes the effect of your brain, or something. Like, it changes the side or something...
I do, actually, beleive in Lyra's Oxford. And many worlds, too. I heard somewhere, that once you make a desision, you make a world, a happening of what would have happened. Sometimes those worlds cross, and you meet hat you would have been.... Anyway... sorry, I'm just rttling on.... I met me in my dæmon form, actually. I'm a white cat, named Kazra , and Haim's human form is named Damien. He has jet black hair and the exact same blue eyes as Haim had when he was a siamese cat.

Hey, Kirryn. I'm really interested in Quantum Physics, and know about various theories, including Entanglment and Parrallel Universes.
When I draw, I HAVE to listen to either rock, or West African, otherwise I'm useless.

*waves to ice* Quantum physics is my secret nerdy obsession. I'm an experimental theologian in training! ^_~ I heard somewhere, that once you make a desision, you make a world, a happening of what would have happened. Sometimes those worlds cross, and you meet hat you would have been... *nodnodnod* That's totally true! And there's millions upon millions of these split possibilities. They're what make up infinity. Buuuut enough of that babble. Once again, explody brains and all I think the mind-thing, the sort of state of conciousness you slip into to see other dæmons (or maybe even when you envision your own) is sorta like how Lyra had to be in a certain state to read the alethiometer, maybe. Hmm. I wonder if that means that with (a LOT of) practise, anyone can see anyone else's dæmon?

"Oxford" is what we call the world where you and your dæmon switch roles. My dæmon-self is a sand cat named Shameira, and Pocket's human form is called Julian. I met me in my dæmon form, actually. I'm a white cat, named Kazra , and Haim's human form is named Damien. He has jet black hair and the exact same blue eyes as Haim had when he was a siamese cat. Just off topic a little here - REALLY? That's so strange - I'm writing a story where the main character's name is Damien, and he has dark hair and blue eyes. And it's not exactly a common name, Damien, is it? Particularly because with the "e" it's supposed to be feminine ... but whatever ... Plus I always thought my Damien's dæmon would be a white tiger. Weird.

Awesome!!!
About that world thingie. I sortof believe that every imaginary world that people make up (like in books and t.v. shows), anything that's made up is actually turned into a world. It doesn't sound all that weird once you think about how powerful the human brain is. What was that number? Correct me if I'm wrong, but someone once told me that we only use 10% of our brains. We may could actually create worlds with our imagination...
I like all that quantum physics too. (if you couldn't tell already)

Hey there.
Wei are Seth McPagon and his dæmon (Wei haven't gave her a name yet). Wei are new here. All started like this:
Two months ago I finished reading His Dark Materials. I likes dæmons so much, that I believed to their existance. I wanted to see mine. Just yesterday I visited The Dæmon Page, and learned about their existance. I knew it!!! My friends were making fun of me!!!! Now I see that there are many people who believe in Dæmons, and they can SEE them!!! How can I see her?!?!?!? I want to see her!!!!!
Can you tell me how? I want to knowwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please reply or send e-mail to mxmariosp@yahoo.gr (as you see from .gr I am in Greece).
Thank you, Seth McPagon.
P.S. I know that my message doesn't make sense with the title of this topic, but it was the last I read.
