This happens a lot. Maybe the daemon doesn't turn....vapourous...but they teleport. Pocket, I believe, is constantly avoiding Cat's sister, who is always trying to snatch at him. (though how Cat's sister knows where Pocket is when she does this is a mystery) Rho teleports sometimes, but usually he'll get out of the way before I know what's going on. Like when riding in the car. He'll fly along outside, then suddenly go higher right before a car zooms past where he was. A car that I had no clue was coming until it would've squashed him. But that's a different story. Don't worry about it. It's normal. If we let people zoom through our daemons all the time, we'd have a whole bunch of squashed souls. lol

(though how Cat's sister knows where Pocket is when she does this is a mystery) The naturopath says she can read minds. ;; She used to do that quite a bit. Not so much anymore, because she realized A) it looks foolish and B) several of her good friends have started believing in dæmons. xD Yeah, Pocket teleports quite a bit. In my school, Meadowvale, the hallways are PACKED between classes. Pocket usually turns into his winged-mongoose form and hovers above me, but this doesn't always work. Sometimes he's forced to teleport. The bike rider incident reminded me of Pocket, but one time, he didn't poof in time. I was walking to MacDonald's with my friend and we crossed a busy street to a sort of small concrete walkway in between the two lanes. We started walking along it and Pocket, jackal-formed, trotted alongside me on the road. Suddenly, a car went WHOOSH! straight through him. It startled both of us so much - probably for me because it was so close I could have touched it as it went by. And neither of us saw it coming. I was a little stunned. Pocket was terrified. He flew at me and crept inside my jacket as a mongoose ( he doesn't do that often ). Now, needless to say, he's pretty scared of that road in particular. But he's never been run over since.

This happens a lot with us. Darkett is stubborn, and insists on staying "out" when I'm in a crowd. He swerves between people-- Darkett: And I enjoy it. --but he sometimes misses, and he passes through them. I get a chill, and my heart rate speeds up. He doesn't mind going through objects (right now he's hovering half-in-half-out of the computer screen) but going through people disturbs him.

Sy is just... wicked fast. She's never been 'touched' or anything of the sort. She just moves too fast. The closest that it's ever come is when she was sitting on a seat on the bus, and this guy came and sat in the seat next to her, and put his hand within a fourth of an inch of her. I felt a chill when this happened. It was wierd.

Kir usually gets out of the way in time and sometimes to avoid commotion hei'll climb onto my shoulder or sprout wings or just kind of drift in the air. For some reason, Kir loves being in crowds (unlike me). Hei loves to run through a tightly woven group of people and dodge everyone. It's interesting to watch.

Rho also enjoys weaving through people without touching them. He's not much for crowds, so I guess that's how he makes it more fun for us.

Aurora usually perches on tops of cars to keep from getting in the way of anything, though she's pretty fast on her wings so I doubt it'd be a problem anyway... ^.^ When she really wants to stay out of the way she perches on my shoulder as a bat...

Rester is also very fast. When we're on the street, he usually is near my feet, or jumps to my shoulder, but one day he was on my left shoulder when a friend touched me there. I think he quickly run throug my neck to the other shoulder, and when she released me, he went there again (after all, I nearly shouted at her when this happened "Be carefull!!")

Well Cal always walks right at my side, only in very empty places does he sometimes venture ahead a little but in crowded places he curls up on my shoulder. He seems to shrink when he does this but its his favourite place to rest. This way he's always out of reach of people but he has been touched before and he totally freaked, as did I. It felt strange, wrong

Nax completely freaks out if he gets too near people. Objects like lamp-posts and buildings and cars and such don't really bother him, but people are a different matter. He usually shrieks (Panaka: I do not shriek. Me: Yes, you do. Shut up, I'm trying to post!) and either de-projects himself entirely so he's not there at all or he does a sort of *zoom* and teleports to my shoulder as a magpie That form is very useful for enclosed spaces... plus hei's all shiny and pretty!

Caius tends to flit around ahead of me or perch on my shoulder. He's pretty quick, so generally doesn't need to worry about contact. If some obstacle does pop up unexpectedly, he sort of... disappears until it's clear.

When we're moving through a thick crowd of people, Asher becomes a little bird and flies right above my head. And during bus rides, hei changes back into a cat and rests on my lap where hei knows he'll always be safe. ;D I have yet to have someone go through him or touch him, so I guess Ash's techniques for avoiding contact are working!

Pheo goes into a cute little horse form and sits on my head- he says he can see everything then. It seems that there are a lot of ways dæmons deal with crowds, makes you think how strange it wold be if dæmons were all physical- they'd be running everywhere!

Sy enjoys weaving in and out of people. Shei gets to do this a lot, since I go to an extremely crowded school. (Go BLA!)
