I was thinking about the Reversed Roles theory (about how one's daemon can be the human in another world, and oneself being that human's daemon) a little while ago, and I started wondering about two different, but slightly related, things.
The first is directly connected to that theory, and it's this: If someone has a same-sex daemon in this world, does that mean that their otherworldly counterpart (or counterparts, since there are multiple worlds) also has a same-sex daemon? If so, does that mean that a female duo would have a male pair as their counterparts, or would they still both be female in that world as well? Or would it be that the daemon remains female no matter what dimension the two are in, while the human's gender changes from world to world?
In the same sentiment as that last question, here's another, but this is from a reincarnation-focused standpoint. If reincarnation is possible, and it actually happens, how would a same gendered pair translate over? For example, if there is a male who has a male daemon in this life, would his daemon also be male in the next life as well, whether he was or not? Or, in other words, would he be a homosexual male in the current life, but a straight female in another, or a bisexual of either gender?
Then again, if homosexuality is caused by hormonal influences during the formation of the infant, isn't it possible that the person's sexual preference (and possibly his/her gender) would change with every incarnation? (I've read in the past that gender is also caused by hormones during birth, as well as the genetic code - the latter influencing the mentality and the former the actual physical aspects...I have no idea whether this is true or not, though. I'd have to do more research on the subject.) If that's the case, then what happens to the daemon? Does his or her gender also change, either to match or to oppose his/her human's, with every rebirth? If so, would that mean that every soul changes a bit each time it's reborn?
If not, maybe it could just appear that the gender of the soul had changed because the two change places from one life to the next? Then you could say that the reversed roles theory sometimes plays out on this world as well. Our daemons would be born with us again, because we can't actually be separated from our souls and still be alive, but it doesn't mean that the personality that is the human now will always be the human one in every life...but that's assuming that core portions of someone's personality are carried over from every life, and that life experiences only influence how those things manifest, or which things are dominant. Theoretically, this could in turn influence the daemon's settled form, and with the other elements possibly affecting his/her gender as well, there's really no telling what our daemons could be in another life, right?
I know that there's no way to actually know whether or not this happens, but I still wanted to know what everyone thought about this topic. Hopefully it made some kind of sense; I thought of a few more things while I was trying to sum up what I had been musing on, so things might be a bit jumbled.
