Okay, then. First, the poems:
I like the rythm you get into the second one, but after the first stanza of the first one, the rythm seems to get a little chunky or rough.
The rhyms (BAH! I GIVE UP!) are generally weel done, but a couple of them seem forced. Try playing with the grammer a bit to allow for different rhym schemes to appear, that might help. Also, a thesaurus has saved my life more than once. I've read about Rhyming dictionaries/thesauruses-- in which they give rhyms to words. It's nice. I need one. I don't do rhym becasue I always come up with really, really cheesy rhyms. *shrug*
Anyhoo... I have been labled "So weird you have to like him" by one of my friend's Grandmothers. I wear that phrase like a badg of honour now, ^^

And some say Maya Angelou is a hack. They're often called morons, idiots, and... a variety of other terms. ;D

I did a long report on her a few years ago. And this one guy HATED all of her work, spat upon it and buried in dung kinda idea. Ridiculous, yes, but it is out there.*shakes head sadly*

Going back to that rhymeless poetry, mine hardly ever rhyme either, but people still think it's poetry, next time someone claims that your work isn't poetry, shove a dictionary in their faces and make 'em look it up. Edit: and who is Maya Angesomething?

XD I will...If I ever show anyone my better stuff, anyway, but if I did, they're probably be too scared to talk to me again. ^_^ Like someone I know once said : "A mind obsessed with the sublime..." Lol, and, ya, I'm still wondering who Maya Angelou is, too.

Maya Angelou is one of the great American Poets to come out of the "Harlem Rennesance." She is still writing and producing today.
She is, obviously, African-America. Her poems have been hailed world wide, and her autobiographies (the first of which shares a name with one of her poems: "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings") are international bestsellers.
She is also the second "Inagural Poet" in American History. For a cookie with white choclate and Macedamia nuts, who can name the first?
