I love HDM. I think that LOTR had to muck killing in it, and HP had too little killing in it. Also, LOTR and HP aren't, as Ra said, as thought provoking as HDM

Interesting. I thought perhaps all the refrences of how Harry's parents were murdered in cold blood would be enough for you, but nooooo. *hides from Ice with Maia*

I love HP! I thought there were two main things in HP that reminded me of daemons: What animal you become as as Animagus, and a Patronus. I don't think Harry's daemon would be a stag, though.

Very true with the stag thing...Harry is a guy. A stag is male. Female deer have been known to grow antlers. It's an extremely rare occurance though. It's funny when you guys say HP. Those are my initials. My cousin's too. It's funny.

I am a die-hard Harry Potter fan! I also love LotR! And HDM off course! I don't know why people couldn't love all these books. As for daemons in HP, I think the Animagus form one takes is the form of one's daemon (JKR said that your Animagus form is who you are....and that sounds like a daemon to me). A Patronus is hope and love shown in a corporeal way....that's whay Harry's Patronus is a stag - it's who his father was and it reperesents hope and love to Harry.

You guys have noticed the strange connection with James and his friends's names with the forms they morph into? Lupin sounds like Lupus or Lupine. Sirius is the dog star. Well, I don't see a connection with the other names, but the first two were pretty peculiar. I bet she planned it that way!
