I was wondering, for those who are 17 or older, and about to go into further education.. what are your plans? Are your parents going to help you out, or are you planning to get a job, and pay for it yourself later? Or... loans, grants, what?
I made big mistakes in the past, and now I have to go back to highschool to finish my french... THEN do college, and I know my mom will be going into retirement before I'm finished, so I'll have to have my own place, support myself while going to school.. and it just seems impossible. I don't want to be stuck in some dead end job forever..... :/ I'm so worried and I feel horrible... I was just wondering if anyone had some similiar worries for their future.

There aren't alot of over-17's here, but I kinda know what I'm doing. Here in TN,our lottery works so taht if you have a 2.5 or higher, the lottery grants scholarship money that pays almost all your tuition to any IN-STATE college,so I'll probabley be going to UT to major in psychology/criminology. Money-wise...I have some money saved up,but I suspect my parents will help a bit and I'll have to take financial aid (doesn't everyone?) Meh. I don't know alot-alot,so sorry if I'm not of much help. ^^;; I tried. And I wish you the best of luck.

I'm 17 too....
I don't have -any- plans. Well I mean, I'll probably go to Uni somewhere, study something, try and get to America in any which way....get a job.
But nothing's clear...
Lol, hope that makes you feel better ^^

I'm 15, with plans for Oxford already. I'm hoping I can get a scholarship for my fencing or archery, as I persue both quite actively. It's stressful though.

I'm fifteen and have no direction or motivation, so I guess I can't really help.
Sil: good luck on getting to Oxford. (: I used to want to do that, and was enrolled in the International Baccalaureate program (which I still cannot even spell) but decided I don't want to go to school overseas.

Ehh....I'm a lot younger than most of you, but right now I'm trying to get into a REALLY good early college program near where I live. (it's where you go to high school at a college and take college courses in 11 & 12 grade.) Beyond that, I dunno. I really want to go to Oxford too. ^^

Sad thing is that the only peopel who go are stoner-sluts and hippy-artists. As for the latter,I don't mean the good kind. However,At my school we have AP classes where- if you past a test at the end- it counts as a college course. In all actuality,if you take all the right ones, you can enter college as a sophtmore.

I'm supposed to be taking college courses during the summer, but that's not going to happen till next year or something. And I'm going to take AP classes. I was going to go to this school up in north Texas where they take you as a junior and they graduate you from highschool, and when that happens you'll already be a sophmore in college. That would be so cool, but my mom won't let me. =( I probably would miss all my friends and comming on here and stuff.
Oh, btw I'm 15.

I'm 14 but I've got my whole life mapped out ^^ I'm staying onto to do my A-Levels and I'm going to get a job real soon so no problems there, also my book wil pay a lot. I'm going for a gap year, travelling and I'm doing freelance journalism for that. Then I'm going to Oxford too! (I hope) If they accept me that is
They'll accept you. You're a very bright girl Zoe, and you know it!
Awww ^_^ so those are my plans, don't know how they help but you never know!

Eep. I worry about my future all the time. There's so much pressure to choose all the right courses in high school... >< I don't like it. I don't even know if we have AP or Honors classes. *uninformed*
My parents have saved money for me and I'm saving a bit myself. I'll get a job when I'm of age. (I'm 14 now)
I'm thinking of doing my university in Eastern Canada, because that's where the bestofthebest are. If not, then probably UVictoria.
Then I'll spontaneously become rich and famous and live in a manor on Salt Spring Island. <333 q:

Wow, lots of replies. I didn't realize ^.^ For everyone who has their futures planned out... GO YOU! That's great. ^.^ For anyone who doesn't, that's pretty normal. Don't stress about it until graduation year, or whatever. I've decided I'm going to take the Canadian GED or even U.S.... then start college in the states when the time comes, and I'll probably get married before that to mah boi ^.^ I guess I'll be about 25 by then, due time to get married ;P Spiral, poor you, don't rush into marriage before you find someone you truly love, and all that. Sounds like you have a lot of hardship and challenges in your future, but that only makes me respect you more. I've honestly had it pretty easy, aside from the times out of the mom's house and living on my own salary, whatnot... Can't imagine having my very own place! I probably never will, it seems, now... I mean, I'll share with the boyfriend/hubby whatever.

My parents are the same way Spiral. "We want grandchildren. Get a boyfriend." They don't even know I have one now though, strangely enough.

I'm going to be a psyciatrist. I want to go into a college in NYC, because I love that city ALMOST as much as I love San Fransisco.
I will be very sad when I leave my beloved SF though.
