My school offers programs for Italian and Chinese-- for about ten students each then they have a trip to that country. But our superintendent spent a lot of our funds on china trips last year, so our school's in the crapper. So no VHS for us until 2009-after I graduate Dx

Feel lucky, VHS isnt a possibility in my highschool for at least one hundred years, thats how long it will take for them to get a grant for it... *dreams of these schools these people are talking about with technology and China trips*

The closet I got was owning 3/4 of the board XD As for China trips XD It was my superintendent taking our teacher back and forth to one spot 73 times in four monthes. equals, big money waste XD

Heh. The musk deer's scientific name reminds me of 'mischievous'. We coyotes get a nice, simple 'Canis latrans'. Means 'barking dog' ^^ And it's hard not to smack people when they look at a photo of a coyote and mistake it for a wolf.
Just Japanese at our school. And why do you have to sing about Monoply? 0o

Leptailurus serval for us. According to Lioncrusher..... The genus name for the serval, Leptailurus, comes from the Greek words "lepta", meaning small, and "ailur", meaning cat. Serval is derived from the Latin word "cervus", which means deer. Thus, the serval's name would mean "Small deer-cat". Small deer cat. Alrighty then. (Hey emily, maybe we're related distantly or something! ) Oh, and my school's magnet program is foreign languages, so you can take.... Arabic French German Hebrew Hindi Italian Japanese Latin Mandarin Chinese Russian Spanish I'm currently in Italian III.

Wow. I wish I had been at your school, Sinead. My high school only had French, Spanish, German, and Latin. The latter two being really... sad and small classes. Though I still should've taken German.
I want to learn Arabic, Russian, and more of Chinese/Japanese~. :9 And Gaelic. And German. ...and maybe a Romance language if I have time.
Edit: Oh, and well... I guess the scientific name we have is what... draco?
I quite like the flying tree snake one, though: chrysopelea paradisi. The sand cat one is entertaining... felis margarita.

Hey, I know a little Arabic. Well, three words/phrases or so >> My parents used to be very fluent in it, and still use it if they don't want us knowing what they're talking about.

Lux: You just appeared one day. The first I knew of you was when I told you that your Latin was slightly off. >> oO When, exactly? I avoided using Latin as much as possible, even tough I'm pretty good at it. >> Maybe on the pronunciation of daemon? Anyway, it's not like I've chosen to do Latin. In my school it is mandatory... I used to hate it at first, but now I think it's very interesting.

oO When, exactly? I avoided using Latin as much as possible, even tough I'm pretty good at it. >> Maybe on the pronunciation of daemon? In your sig...it says something like "the Truth is often in danger, but never" and then I'm not sure if it's dies or lies. One of those two, I think. No idea what it is in Latin though, but TU pointed out something about it (which I can't remember). Tada!

Oh, that one. It should have been: -but it can never be killed. But 'never dies' sounds better. Artistic freedom XD >> << I was probably to lazy to check 'exstinguo' on the dictionary. I didn't notice TU's post on that, anyway.
