I'm pretty sure everyone should know that Rano and I have decided he probably isn't settled yet. At first I thought he was settled as a blue and black cat, then I thought he was settled as the reverse caracal. Now I don't know what to think. Even if he is settled, I'm gonna pretend he isn't so I can really get a good idea about his forms instead of thinking about it for a few days then deciding what he is settled as. I think it will take a few weeks minimum to work it out what his form is if he is settled, if not wei'll just wait. I'm sorry for making you think anything that might not be true about Rano.

Well, just keep strummin' along. Things will change for the better. But, maybe this means you, as a person aren't settled either? I mean, your personality and who you are. Just a thought. Don't eat me. o.o

Ok. I won't eat you. You probably wouldn't taste good to me anyway.
You've got a point. It is possible. Maybe he's been trying to settle, but my changing personality is stopping him. Or something like that. I haven't noticed any change, but everyone is saying I seem more confident and other little things like that. I guess I wouldn't notice. Little things would make him represent me differently so... I guess that's it.

My mom says I'm chewy and tangy. -bites self- Yep.
For a while, I thought my dæmon was settled also, but then I compleatly changed. Going from an enivorment where I was teased, to one where I was 'top dog,' made me get a lot meaner, a stronger, more agressive and even a loner. And then, when I knew I wouldn't change anymore, and I liked the person I was. I knew Rome was settled.

Chewy and tangy? Ok. I dont' think I'm going to find out for myself any time soon. I'm kind of a loner too. Always have been. I'm trying to think of animals that can be social animals, but are loners too. Do you know of any? That might help a little with the search thingy. At first I thought of hyenas, but they don't resemble me in the slightest. Maybe the mammal thing, but other than that... I doubt it is a wolf. I allways hear about 'the lone wolf'. Yeah, a lone wolf for about a week, untill it dies of starvation, or is killed by another pack after wandering into thier teritory. Even if they get accepted into the pack, they aren't 'lone' anymore then are they? Oops. I kindof went a little overboard with it didn't I? I like to prove my point by putting in the more than needed amount facts. ;D

Dun worry. I still haven't figured out Erasmuses form...and I coubt he's settled yet...he difinatly doesn't change much, but he isn't quite settled...and I have a feeling we will stay in this mid-pointof trnasition for a while, before he settles permanantly...anyway I'm getting off topic...wel, just keeping trying out different forms...you'll begin to find forms that feel more right and one's you thought seemed right at first butafter trying it out for a while realized was wrong. It may take a while but you'll figure it out eventually...

Don't feel pressured for Rano to settle. When it happens , it happens.......

Yup! Thanks. I think that's what Rano was trying to make clear to me all along. He's smart to get me to post something, because he knew everyone would say something to that effect.

Yea, changes in environments can change your personality and it makes it so your daemon can't settle in the form you thought he/she might I suppose. Like when I come to Colorado I always get shy because I don't know anybody but when I go back home to Minnesota I'm more confident because I know who people are and could really care leass if they tease me. ~laughs at picture in her mind of Kami chewing off a bully's leg~ Take that!
Note: O.o I was looking through the daemon analysis thinks on Okibi's page and I did a lookup on Mongooses. I think that Kami is actually a Yellow Mongoose, not a Marten....Well, the first form he was in. The other one he tends to use is an Arctic Fox

Yeah, that popular idea of a "lone wolf" is really a misconception. In reality, wolves are very social animals. They excel at working together, especially when hunting. Their social structure is very complex, rivaling that of the great apes. Lone wolves are not only relatively rare, but unlikely to survive long without the support of their pack.
This is one of the reasons Kel is a wolf- I'm often misconcieved as being very solitary and independant, but I'm actually very reliant on my 'pack' (my friends and family). My pack is the most important thing to me, above all else.
Sorry for the little canine-related ramble. Guess I just wanted to say, if you don't think Rano's a wolf then you're probably right. ^^; Good luck.

Augurys right. Sometimes you think youre daemon will settle as a particular thing but something just doesn't click, and then they'll settle as something completely unexpected. I hadn't even heard of Red Pandas before Mox turned into one for the first time. Believe me, you'll know when Rano settles.

I second that. Forever, I thought Romulues was a wolf. But as I started learning more about myself, and how I could be independant and mean and nasty and all those things, it just became clear to me, I was a wolverine. And truth be told, I didn't even like wolverines until Rome settled. The first time he became one, I was like, "O.O! Are you kidding me?!" But now, I've learned to love what he is.
Point: Don't worry about Rano settling as an animal you wouldn't like. You'll love it eventually.

The only thing I wouldn't like Rano settling as, would be some kind of bug, or invertabrate. But i'm quite sure he'll settle as a mammal. (I probably said something like that already)

Not to be mean to people with insect dæmons (Does anyone even have an insect dæmon?) but I believe insects would make pretty crummy dæmons. I mean, they don't really tend to have traits and behavoiur that differs from other insects, do they? It's mostly eat, fly around, grow, mate, eat and bug (pun fully intended) other creatures, you know? I would like someone to prove me wrong though.
