Yes, at one point Cat's dæmon had a collar with two gold tags, right? Or maybe he still does. Anyway, I'm rather curious about these dæmons with collars and tags...what do they have them for? I always wondered what Pocket's collar was for - yeah, he still has it. I think he's quite fond of his collar. Does this mean he's more obedient, more tame? Nah-ah. Not my Pan. He's wild. So what does it mean? Anyone got any opinions? And what do the tags say? Pocket says one has got his name, our address and phone number in case he ever gets lost, and the second says he's had his rabies vaccinations. He's kidding. I'm actually not sure what the tags say. I think one says "PANDAREOS" but I've never got a good look. Maybe they say nothing. It's hard to tell. To Hannah - do you know what Rho's tags say? Anyone else with a collared dæmon? Any thoughts, anyone?

Pheo's got a collar with a black crystal-thingy attached to it, he won't tell me anything about it except that it makes him cool, dæmons and their egos . But he only wears this in his settled form, no others. Does anyone with collard dæmons have a dæmon which keeps the collar in each form? Also- does anyone else's dæmons carry around something else other than a collar? An arm band or something?

On one of Rho's tags, I think it says his name and on the back the meaning he gave his name-Wild Magic. The other may be blank, but I can't tell. Also, he's very elusive when I ask him.

Does this mean he's more obedient, more tame? Nah-ah. Not my Pan. ;) I dunno. That seems like the obvious answer - it represents the dæmon being more likely to concentrate on the wishes of others, to be tame, loyal, and all that good stuff... But you say this doesn't apply to Pocket, and I agree. ::can't say for the moment:: In my own experience, Rookie only has a black collar in his Japoro form (and not every time). He has it because.... it's part of the form. ::shrug:: Japoro has a black collar with a red jewel in the anime, and that's where the shape came from. It may be the same for Pocket (the collar goes with the form), but he made it red to be more personalized...?

Yeah, Rho's form is kinda like Japoro, only bigger. And blue. And....yeah. It may be that for us too.
The collar thing may also, at least on an animal that is visibly fierce, represent that thier human seems tame, but really isn't.

I didn't think of that. I knew that Japoro has a collar, but Pocket acquired his a few weeks before he started becoming a Japoro-mongoose.
Hannah, what you said might make sense too. I'm more submissive than Pocket is to my superiors. So it's possible that the collar doesn't represent Pocket, but me ...
He doesn't keep his collar in other forms. But in his Border collie form, he sometimes wears a red bandanna. That's all, though.

Aurora wears a silver choker/collar with an amber jewel on it, like you see in the picture.. and when she changes form she has different things... like in her bat form she actually has an earring on her ear with an amber jewel on it. Red panda it's a bracelet. Yup, she sure insists on the amber.

Tyb reaaaaaaaaaally doesn't like the idea of a colar--so its a small wonder I've never seen him with one on. I'm not too keen on the idea either.

hee Kay's insulted by the idea of a collar, >simply degrading...< Yes Kay I know...
But that's just us, to you guys with a collar, what do collars represent? (to me, individual interpretation plays a big, if not the only part in the meaning of forms/colors/stuff, just like the bat daemon of the old sage: for them it meant a wise person, but to others maybe not..just a glimpse of my theory)
Maybe (since Pocket's has the address and name) it show an attachment to your roots, or maybe an underlying "fear" of getting "lost": loosing your identity being uncertain in that domain, a sort of reminder of who you are essencialy?? maybe the idea of identifying is behind the collar symbolism?
For example for us it means a form of possession, of "asservicement" erm...slavery in french? The possession idea is behind it, basicaly.
But it all depends on what collars mean to you

Ah, he was kidding about the address/name thing. Still, good theory. Could be true. You know, now that I think about it, to me, the collar does mean something ... something like a link to Pocket, another thing binding us. There is a sort of fear of him getting lost or leaving me. I used to wonder if Pocket would someday just fade from my mind, and that terrified me. Now I realize that the collar first made an appearance back then. Wow. So the collar is a subconcious way of expressing a fear of losing my dæmon?

Hm...For me, collars represent ownership. Like on dogs and cats and such, but not on Rho. I don't know what it means on him exactly. It's not a collar exactly...but that's the best way to describe it. I think it has something to do with the fact that I wear a choker-thingie with an important object on it. (that pinkish thing in the glass jar that I talk about sometimes) Before he wasn't so much for 'collars' but when I put the thing on the choker, that was about the time he had a 'collar'. I'm not quite sure what that means though.
But it's a weird collar. Dark green leather, with silver wire inlaid in it, and no clasp or buckle. It's solid leather all the way around. There isn't a break in it so that it could come off, like a normal collar would have.
