I've written a (unfinished) crossover fanfiction, which crosses the movie The Triplets of Belleville (aka Les Triplettes de Belleville, or Belleville Rendez-Vous) and HDM. Champion Souza (along with Madame Souza, and later, the Triplets) discovers his dæmon. Here's the FanFiction.net link: www.fanfiction.net/s/2015669/1/

*gasp* Belleville!
My review posted on the site: "Good job! I think that Champion is perfect as a greyhound, and Mme Souza as a duck. My only critique is the block of text in Chapter two that could be broken up... Though I have no issues with the writing, et leurs emotions sont fantastiques. ^^ --Ravey"

It's bizzare and silent, two things I'm not used to in movies, but I liked it a lot. I saw it on the plane coming back from my trip to the (Canadian) East this summer. What's not to like about Belleville? Even its box is cool!

Aye, when I first saw the preview in the movie theater (incidentally, I was there to see Pieces of April, which I didn't like nearly as much as ToB), from the first frame of the preview, I knew this was something...different. As the preview progressed I searched for something familiar, but the title The Triplets of Belleville provided no solace. I was actually a little freaked out, which I why I can understand those who don't like it. I said to my friend, "What the heck was that?" My friend shrugged and said, "Dunno, probably something like Fantasia." Then I saw it, and absolutely loved it. It's strange, it's phantasmagoric, but it's supposed to be that way. It's also really beautiful and sweet. I have the soundtrack and really want to own the DVD. One thing I'm going to do is take a photo-- make my own screenshot-- of the frame where Champion and Madame Souza whiz by the wall that says "Defense D'Uriner." I'll put it on my French binder, hehe ^^

And when I said Champion and Mme. Souza whizzed by the wall...I meant they passed by it quickly. Thought I ought to make that clear, especially because of what the wall says...

It's an animated film by this French guy Sylvain Chomet. The Triplets are three old women who used to be famous in the 20's. They're not really the main characters though, Champion Souza and his grandmother Madame Souza are.
