I was wondering if anyone can help me identify an animal. At first I thought 'ermine', but looking at pictures of weasels the body isn't heavy enough and the form isn't white-white-white. But Misha's been playing with a new form and I'd like putting a name to it, if I can. It's kind of...catlike, but the body's too elongated. He's got dirty cream-white fur, like a polar bear. Not totally white, maybe a yellow hint to the coat. He's got black points, feet, tail, but it's not a Siamese cat-ish look. The head is narrow, teardrop, ears small and round. He's heavy, not a light frame like most ferrets. More marten body or mink, but if they have a winter coat similar I've never seen pictures. Maybe some kind of civet but I can't find any yet that seem to match. The ears are semicatlike, like marten or fisher ears tend to be. I'd say about...size of a housecat, maybe a gargantuan ermine, but that doesn't seem likely. Can somebody help me? I'll keep hunting but any help'd be appreciated!

I'm at my dad's house, too. =P Anyway... I thought I'd post this picture. www.afrikeye.net/mongeese/images/white_tailed_mongoose.jpgI know it doesn't have a black tail, and that it's a terrible picture, but it's the closest thing I could find to what you described. XD Um, ermines can grow to be 260 grams in weight, if that makes any difference. ::can't mentally convert that to pounds::

Well, it's more that cream-white color Jen was talking about, and white-tailed mongooses don't normally look like that. (Typically just have white TAILS, obviously. XD)

Let's see...*whips up a converter* 260 grams is .5731 pounds. *shifts the sleepy kitten in her lap so he doesn't fall to the ground* The white-tail is interesting, I've never heard of a white mongoose. o.o Not as white as that one was, anyway. But it's hard to a find a nice picture of those anywhere ^^; *google'd it* The best I can come up with is saying American Pine Marten but with Siamese markings. o.O I've been up and down the lists and that's the only conclusion I can see unless somebody finds something else. c_C;

Everyone, I'm calling off the search. I have a very very good idea of what Misha may settle as, and it's not going to be whatever that oddball was. Thank you all for trying to identify the creature, I appreciate the help you gave me! But I think if I'm right that this is it...*squee!!*
