Waa? I'm not Catholic, but how are dæmons against it? Thei're not really magic or anything... Anyway, I got nada. ^_^ Ok, I haven't read this whole thread, in a bit of a hurry. If I remember correctly demons are wrong but knowing your soul isn't, therefor daemons technically arn't wrong in catholisism. I've been reading a manga which uses the exact same idea as daemons (tsubasa reservoir chronical by clamp) they call them Kudans. So essencially the only thing which makes our daemons seen as unacceptable is that we call them daemons. That and talking to an invisible friend is a bit of a no no for teenagers and older >_< Anyway, doesn't Catholisism require you to believe that priests have divine powers (...which also could be called magic) because in mass you're supposed to belive that when you eat the bread and drink the wine that you are actually eating the body and blood of christ. So the priest has divine powers to turn them into the body and blood of christ.

Well, no. It's blessed so it represents the body and blood of Christ. I'm sure nobody would touch it if it was real.

He said that in dream the soul soars freely, and that when we die, our sould is rid of our body and is free like a bird whose cage has been brokenso, what, being human is like being...punished? Why would a soul lower itself like that, go down a step to be less capable of amazing things. Is it a kindof, be trapped so later you will appreciate the freedom even more? Also...Im a bit confused , um if your soul dissapears , soul being daemon right now, where do YOU go? Or are we both the soul, just sortof divided into male/female , concious/subconcious and we like, bond together in death? Maybe that is the freedom he means, the freedom to be...sexless and expirience all your levels of thought at once and understand them. Is it just me or does the way he talk about make it seem like the body sortof...hampers the soul, or holds it back from its real potential.....ill tell you what though im not afraid of death anymore. I think the soul is basically the mind/conciousness combonation thing. I mean, in this the soul is discussed as basically YOU, plus that lil something else. You go with your daemon, because you ARE your daemon, at least hte way I read into it. We are not punished--just held back by earthly ties. Like the bird in the cage--the bird isn't punished, just kept from full potential for a little while. And thats why I like my religion--there's nothing scary about death in it. I have never feared death.

Quite simply, I'm an atheist. No conflict there. I believe in alternate universes; alternate selves, too but not in the same way as most here. I don't believe in deaths, because I believe death is no more than the brain and important organs completely ceasing to function, and that there is nothing further. Nothing to be guided out of the body.

To each his own. That's something I thoroughly believe in.
