Are they the same thing? Like even without you realising it. I was talking about this earlier today with 2 of my friends, about what names people call their daemons, and I had like a revelation (I dunno if it should be called that, but whatever). I've had this imaginary (although I aways thought of him as invisible...) friend called Josh. And I've always just assumed he was a 17 year old guy who liked to hang around with me. Call me sad. I don't care. I'm lonely. *shifty eyes* But today I was thinking, is this imaginary/invisible friend actually what you guys would call a daemon? Seeing as he is a he and has never been anything but that. And is always there. And if so, is this the name of my daemon? Or just a weird coincidence? Hmm

that brings me back to when i was playing with the idea of souls not being restricted to animals, or at least something like that...i wrote a story involving ( but only semi, a cameo for daemons, if you will ) daemons and ( no one here has seen it btw, this was like a year ago.its called catman:) ) this mans daemon was hundreds of tiny yellow birds. Oh man that story rocked , in the end he dies and those birds 'escape' from his chestt andwhooooaaa im suddenly realising why that thing that ali posted affected me so much. its cause it was confirming what i thought ...wow.
............. whew

Well, they are alike, only with imaginary friends, you are controlling them. Usually anyway. I remember I had an imaginary friend when I met Rho. Then one day they melded together and I asked him where she went and they replied that they were one and the same. So I've known Rho as an imaginary friend for years. It's hard to explain.....but yeah....there is a connection.

Oh brilliant. ^^ That i so cool. Neither of my friends understood it though. I spent like the whole of lunch going through it. But by the end they didn't seem to care anyway.
But thanks, that's really cool ^.^
I actually find it easier to think of an animal nearby than a human...Josh never really has a form anyway...I just kind of...know he's there.
Weird.

Hannah, you don't really control an imaginary friend. Sometimes you do control them, but, if unchecked, they can take on a life of their own. Yeah, imaginary friends are a part of your daemon. However, there's one thing I'm still confused about. Sometimes kids will hate their imaginary friend, because it's annoying or whatever, and their friend will leave. Does that mean that their daemon has dropped their annoyingness? Now I'm thinking about that Cartoon Network show, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. Whenever I watch that show, I kind of feel sorry for all the abandoned friends. It's like the kids are dumping their daemons and leaving them at an orphanage.

Well, from all of my friends descriptions of thier imaginary friends, they all didn't let them say anything they didn't want them to say. Like, hearing what they wanted to hear. But I guess it goes both ways. That last imaginary friend of mine wasn't under my control at all. She did what she pleased.

I think if the imaginary friend goes away because the kid gets annoied, that it's more like the daemon stepping back and doing what makes the child feel comfortable. Anyways, I've always had imaginary animal friends. I was obsessed with animals as a kid. I knew what a serval was before I knew 6-4=2.

Okay, this topic is vaguely related to what's been troubling me. I'm having trouble distinguishing imaginary friends from dæmons. I can imagine a bunch of differant animals, with differant personalities, and I don't know which one is me. Like, when I first tried to see Vaje, I saw a winged cat, that was all happy and bubbly, and a dark cougar, who was really shy. And lately I've been getting images of a black female dragon with purple eyes. Is it possible that people have more than one dæmon, and instead have differant fragments of their personalities? Sorry if this is off-topic...

Hey that's cool ^.^
Maybe you're still trying to work out who you really are, so you keep getting impressions of different personality traits as like to try them out. You're what, 13? So you're probably not just sure yet....That's my theory anyway, but feel free not to listen to me ^^

I strongly disbelive you have multiple daemons, but Cat has previously mentioned something about diffrent versions of you- The Idealist,The Conformist, etc. Maybe you should ask her. Another theory is that maybe it ahs to do with your mood. With my mood, Nemiths personality has been known to change. Sometimes he's all 'Grr,people suck. You're stupid and Immature" and other times he can be "Woo! We rock! I'm so cool! You're so cool!" and before he settled he would change forms with moods. Maybe something like that?

Hehe well, at least you can. I mean, I'm still trying to figure everything out; see any of my other threads lol. But then, that is me: I don't have a clue what I want to do, or even who I am half the time. I'm very mentally immature...

Well, my imaginary friend was a giant lion who changed colour, he didn't say or do much and was mostly only around when I felt vulnerable, I'd say that was some form of my daemon.
Oh, and I'm extremely immature too, I have no idea what to think of myself most of the time.
