Yeah my school uniform sucks, but catholic uniforms rock! But skirts have to be ABOVE the knee, otherwise it'd just look stupid. :-D I agree. The bf told my best friend to get me one for christmas She chose to tell him that we were going to last year, but we had no money. Now I wanna go shopping.... Aaron- True, but when people aren't allowed to express individuality through clothing, they'd have to find other ways. I am nmost definately an individual, but would accept uniforms as a challenge to express myself-expecially if they were cute! X3

Gah! Until I started going to the baptist church here, I didn't know that catholics are like...the /only/ people to do first communion. Everyone else has to wait for Confirmation. My cousin just got confirmed. She's 18! I've been taking comunion for years more than she has, and she's /older/ than me.

On Palm Sunday I went to my grandparents non-denominational church and we had a communion. I'd never done it before and had always thought it was ONLY catholics so....I was a bit unsure of what to do. Grape juice tasted good, though.

lol... grape juice.
I've been in the same confirmation class for about 3 years. They wrote one of the bishops in December and got a letter back recently saying it never got through.
So, yeah, it's very annoying.

I went to catholic school. It looked as if they'd scarred me for life for a while there. And it was terrible when I left to go to public school and I knew nothing about eastern religions. My new friends were patient with me but I made an ass out of myself a few times. (: I'm not an athiest, but I don't follow a religion anymore. It made me sad when I wasn't getting anything out of my faith any more. Le sigh. I stopped taking communion before I stopped going to church though, the priest always coughed all over the host and I couldn't bring myself to take it. So I got blessed all the time, but he totally knew I wasn't supposed to. But hey, if the whole congregation is getting sick and no one wants to say anything, I just won't take part. (:

X3 Well it all depends on what the uniform is I guess, as a believer in freedom and such I feel that a school as a higher athority should take notice that maybe it is a bad idea. I have heard uniforms called equalizers being that every one is weary the same thing so they are all equal. I don't now I just don't like them.

Uniforms are evil.
A dress code is more appropriate. My school has a picture showing what you can't wear to school. Everything else is fine.

I'd love that but no, equality for us. Disgusting, hideous uniforms that are way too cold in the winter and too warm in the summer. It sucks. We all look like clones. Little black and white clad clones, with disgusting ties. They even took away our right to wear belts!!!! Safety hazard my arse

Our school threatened to check at random to see if everyone was in dress code once a week. They did it once, and now nobody cares. Basically, if you can't see things that need to stay hidden, you're fine. Middrift and sagging pants are the only /real/ problems. Well, if you can call them that. Most girls have thier bellies showing, and most guys have to hold their pants in place while walking down the hall. This is pointless, but my stepdad likes to get the kids to cary something that requires both hands somewhere. He finds amusement in thier helplesness. He counts how many times they have to stop to hike their jeans up again.
But weren't we talking about daemon history? *thinks of something to say*
Oh! I know. Not really /daemons/ but in TSK when Will and Lyra are talking about anbaric and electric. How Electrum is their amber? Well, the ancient greeks actually created electricity with amber. They obviously didn't do much with it, or it would've been widly known, but most people think it was that dude. *Is unable to recall names currently* Benjamin Franklin. That guy. =) People think he discovered it, but it was the ancient greeks, all right. Dunno where I heard that from, but isn't it interesting that ambar and amber and that we got electricity from amber and....yeah.

Pullman probably did his homework. It was probably purposeful.
