This is pointless, but my stepdad likes to get the kids to cary something that requires both hands somewhere. He finds amusement in thier helplesness. He counts how many times they have to stop to hike their jeans up again. ;D I've... done that... but never happened to me. The only pair of pants I've worn that were to large had the wrong tag on them. We took them back and got real pants. And now my pants are all bordering on tight, not loose. Squee. As far as history... the "ka" and the "ba" were both names for the spirit and soul, is some order *is not sure which was which* One took human form, and it is that which required the food left in the tomb to survive until you were judged by Anubis. The Ba could fly all over the place, and had the form of a bird (although it was sometimes shown as an animal instead, but such instances are rare and suspect as to actual refernce to the "ba"). Becasue it did not share your form, it needed help to guided back-- part of the lore supporting mummification. The body housed them, and the image drew them. This imporantace of the iamge is why the wealthy patrons of tombs such as those in the Valley of Kings had two, three, or for expensive, gold-wrought masks, up to... er... was it twenty?... statues of themselves (yeah, something like that) and often enough food for a royal feast. They also entombed servants to attend you in the next life quite often. Tasty, no?

I was born a Mormon- Mormons RULE!!!Stop that! anyway The closest thing we have to "spirit guide" is the light of christ. Which is what Eve got for eating the forbidden fruit. (Note to self, try really hard not to rant.) Which is sort of like eternal knowledge or the ability to recognize good from evil. i.e. Joy and guilt. The Mormons call it free agency- Mormons RUL-(Throws pillow at muzzle) But aside from that I can't really remember anything from the Bible or the Book of Mormon that relates to dæmons. Well there is the Holy Ghost, but they're just too different.
