Ok, I’m not here to be all religious or anything; it’s just what’s been on our minds. There are probably just as many theories as there are religions out there and I’m sorry if I say something that offends you. When I’m talking about theories I mean by what happens to your dæmon when you die. Phillip Pullman said they go out like a candle. Well I just can’t accept that. I mean come on! Why would they just disappear from existence when our spirit supposedly goes on? It just doesn’t make sense, they are us after all.
When Philip Pullman explained how the dying person’s dæmon disappears, I like to imagine they just go back inside the body of their human. It does make sense. If their dæmon stopped existing wouldn’t they be like the children from Bolvanger? They would be so empty. I would think that you would go insane, even the people who didn’t know about their dæmon.
This is my reverse role theory about death. In so many religions (that I know of) they talk about your soul going on to the after-life. If that is so then wouldn’t we be the ones who stop existing. That would probably be just as unbearable for our dæmons as much as it would be for us if we lost them. So even if a paradise is promised to us after life it wouldn’t be a paradise at all. How can something be a paradise when a part of you is missing!?
Considering these things I prefer to think of my Ryusan being inside of me still when I die. Even at my death bed I still would never see him flicker out. I would just deny myself of it! But who knows it’s not like I can control what death may bring.
Another theory and probably our favorite is when we die our spirits fuse with our dæmons. We become what form they have settled as. They still are there to guide us as they always have because they still exist within us. I hope you get what I’m saying. It would easily explain animal-spirit guardians.
So ya, like I said I don’t mean to be religious or anything. But I hope this also gets you thinking. I hope you might have other theories; I would like to hear them. Oh and of course our Deaths still lead us to the after-life. I wish I could get to know mine. I think he’s just really shy. I mean really shy. I haven’t even caught a slight glimpse of him yet. Either has Ryusan. But I have a feeling he is helping me along right now. I have had a lot of people/pets I knew die in a short time. Well only 2 but that’s still too much. When people talk of death around me it doesn’t really affect me anymore. Of course it hurts to loose them its just I understand more now. You get what I’m saying? Basically I don’t brake down anymore. Oh and Ryu agrees on all my theories up there. He would also like to know what your dæmons think. ^^
I hope i sent this to the right place. I am new to this forum thing. Iv read them alot but never have i joined.
