Brooke - Do you mean it's egoistical to say you've always known your daemon before you read HDM or before you found TDP? I'd be interested in your reasoning for the latter if you wanted to imply that. I like Okibi's work, but it just confirmed there are others who imagine their daemon's form, it didn't introduce me to Neo.

I think she means egotistical in the "I knew my daemon since I was 3 (and so I'm the best)" kinda way. Or the "I knew my daemon farrrrrr longer than TDF so I know more than all of you" way. Like the "I've been joined to this forum since the original days so therefor I know more than all of you." I think a better term would be 'arrogant behaviour.' Quite distasteful, particularly when showing off. Ugh, I hate it when people show off.
Which is why I'm with Brooke on the 'it's not length- it's quality.' I've had imaginary friends and things similar to Pheo (well, it was him) *shrug* but before our Cieday he wasn't called Pheo so therefor it doesn't count for me regardless of it was him or not.
Don't worry Emma, you're not arrogant ^.~

Don't worry Emma, you're not arrogant ^.~ Phew, that's good to know. Even though I've known Jade for a fair while, I still feel like I know nothing about daemons compared to you guys, hahaha. Maybe it's because I still consider myself a newb on the forum.

I hope you don't think I'm being egotistical Brooke . I have known Jade since I was ten(as some sort of entity living inside my stuffed animal), but I didn't figure out he was actually my daemon until I read the books a couple years later. I'm not calling you egotistical, but if at 10, you didn't know your stuffed animal was your daimon, then I don't think it properly qualifies as a cieday, because the cieday is the day you met and started forming a relationship outside of imaginary friends, etc, with your daimon. Taking imaginary friends into account, I've known my daimon since I was 3 and the like. It sounds like a competition.

Cha. I've been talking to Mew since he was Jimmy, a dead cat, and I was three or four xD;; But that's not my CIEday, cause your CIEday is more important than making up an imaginary friend -- it's realizing and getting to know a whole 'nother part of you. Eh? :3

He wasn't so much an imaginary friend as just someone to talk to when I was alone, who always said the right thing to cheer me up. He was just "inside" the stuffed animal(which at the time looked very realistic to me) because it was easier to visualize him.

Our CIEday isn't on any special day really.. the nearest day of note is St. Patrick's day.. xD;
I've known him just over a year and a half now, and this year, our first CIEday in fact, we didn't really do anything because it was the day after my birthday party and I was nackered and didn't wake up till like, three or something. << He didn't really mind though... I just started talking to him nonstop and stuff around that time and just appreciated him more and he was happy. :3

>> Thanks for clearing that up, Spee, I thought Brooke wanted to imply that everyone who knows their daemon through HDM is fake/being arrogant. We never celebrate our Cieday, because a.) we don't remember when we read HDM and b.) don't like special occasions at all. Neo was there when I was angry as little child, but we never consciously talked so we started with him as 'Neo' and daemon when we read HDM.
I hate it when people imply they know more about daemons than others do. - - I remember Shirley talking about how she's always known her daemon. Liek OMGEE forever. XD

svipur shares a birthday with, among other things, cell phones, tv guide, and alec baldwin. OH BOY. Apparently Jesus died on his day, too? Fun fact! [edited because I can't spell my own daemon's name. Go team!]

On Bell's cieday...Galileo saw Neptune, Boniface I become pope, in 1832 the vice-president resigned, South Australia and Adelaide were founded, Iowa became a state, Cyrano de Bergerac premiered, Woodrow Wilson was born, Stan Lee was born (awesomeness!), and Admiral Benjamin Hacker died on the exact day of her cieday.
All of those things are cool, but...STAN LEE WAS BORN ON BELL'S CIEDAY! ^^ Awesomness.

I consider our relationship to be divided into three parts. First part is before-I-read-HDM, when he manifested as a variety of invisible friends. And just about everyone's gone through this stage. Second part is after-I-read-HDM, which was when the whole imaginary friend thing was often my 'pretend' dæmon. I draw most of our unsettled time off this, though his name was Tremanel, and he was a lot less independent, y'know? Just a figment. And then the final stage is after-TDP, and that is what I consider our cieday, because that is when he started getting an identity of his own.

On Auri’s CIEDay….. Chinese astronomers observe a total eclipse of the sun, Columbus came to America, Samuel Cole opens the first tavern in Boston, Massachusetts, Oranges were introduced into Hawaii, The Battle of Vinegar Hill, colony of New South Wales (Australia), # Gilbert & Sullivan's opera The Mikado premieres in London, Gottlieb Daimler unveils his first automobile which he test runs in Esslingen and Cannstatt, Germany, as well as masses and masses of other stuff. My CIEDay is full of so much interesting stuff….plus, it’s the only day of the year that can be said as a sentence…. March Forth. Or, in other words, CHARGE!

...I have the same birthday as Saddam Hussein. And a flight attendant got sucked out of a 737. And it's the National Day of Mourning in Canada? e_e; But Japan stopped being occupied. And uh... Mussolini died?
