Yes, I'm sure Ra can relate to Ali tons. She always compares to herself to the people she knows. And recently, she's become more competitive and tries to beat them out, instead of moping and complaining she's never going to beat them. I think that comes from me. I'm teritorial and hate when people step on me, so to speak.
Oh, and Ra says thanks to Tyb. ^^

My human used to cut... I was confused and didn't know what to do. Mostly I screamed at her not to, but then I knew that I really couldn't stop her, so I egged her on to see if it would freak her out enought to keep her from doing it. Eh... didn't work. It just made her confused and even more depressed. I don't recomend the reverse pschycology with things of this matter. I think that would be a good point of being physical. We could keep our humans from doing stupid things like that. She doesn't anymore, so that is good. I though highschool would be stressful for her, and be enough to make her start again, but she loves highshcool. I must admit that it is much better than middle school. There is much more room in the hallways, and since Hannah has a study hall 1st period, the pressure of getting all our homework done that night is mostly gone. Wei get a lot less homework than wei expected... Wei get 6 math problems max every night. Not even every night either. That's saying a lot seeing as she signed up for pre AP everything... (If you don't have AP it means 'advanced placement'. Don't ask why there is 'pre AP' because basically it is 'advanced placement' students usually take algebra 1 in the 9th grade. Wei took it in the 8th, and now wei are in geometry.) In short, highschool is great!
And now I'm rambling... Just like my human does... a lot... (Hannah: Hey!)

No kidding middles school was weird. I've developed a theory that just about all daemons settle AFTER middle school. Everyone is so different now in high school....its a lot nicer, not as nasty and weird social-wise. Weir'e in all AP classes, too, and we still get a lot of homework, but not to the extent that we have to pull an all-nighter once a week. Its nice. But back to the cutting thing, Ali's always been afraid of knives, but ever since all this bad stuff happened in her life she started playing around with this corner of her scalp and just keeps scratching and scratching and scratching, its really strange, but she's stopping. And yeah, middle school was weird. Yuck.

My human should have a fear of sharp objects (knives, needles...) but instead she has a resistance to them. I think that's why she stopped cutting. She only did it a few times anyway. Since cutting is supposed to bring relief, and all it did for her was to cut off all feeling of the sharp object. Just not pay attention to it. I think it comes from living for so long with doctors poking her with needles and stuff. Either that or she's just wierd. (Hannah: Hey!) Well you are! Needles still scare me. I don't like them. But since Hannah doesn't even flinch when they poke one in her to draw blood, and even watches with interest, I can't really cower in a corner now can I? Heh...

Mai used to REALLY suffer from depression, and being bullied through all of junior school didn't help either. It was horrible watching her in so much pain, knowing how much she hated herself, feeling that all the nasty things that the bullies told her that she was were true. She still has "down" times now, but they are infrequent and usually tied into something unrelated (she is a girl after all) but I just do what I've always done. Tell her that she is a great person. Remind her of how much she has acheived in her life. She always wished she could go backpacking round the world, and shes done it, twice! For 4 months she travelled round Australlia with just me for company. She was scared of heights, and she beat it by doing the highest Bungee jump in the world. Shes beaten personal addictions that shes had. (By addictions I mean being addicted to negative behaviour pattens.) Shes acheived a lot of her goals. But more importently, I remind her that everyday, she is living life as a friendly, hardworking, kind, warm, happy, tolerant person and not hurting anyone. And I think thats what a lot of the humans on this board seem to be doing. Thats how I help Mais self esteem, by reminding her of her true self, making her laugh, and talking through any problems with her and giving her the best advice I can. Plus I remind her that as shes now a blue belt in kickboxing she could go kick those bullies asses if she wanted to.

Ooo! Next time you are going to go backpacking or bungee jumping, take us with you!! My human's always wanted to do that kind of stuff. Eh, wei'll probably get to it later, when wei don't have school stuff bothering us. My human joined a Venturing crew (which she just got elected V.P of, btw. Everyone clap for her! ;D. lol) and they camp out in different places, do short backpacking trips (6 miles or so..) there is an indoor rock climbing gym they are going to in December... It's awesome! My human loves it. So... If your humans are interested in that kindof stuff, join venturing!!! Fun, fun, fun!!!

Wow... I'm very impressed! I keep on telling Zed to go and do something like that and live her life to the fullest, but I don't think she listens... *growls* (Zed: Well, if you had it your way, I would probably have a lime-green Mohican by now!) Hey, it was just a suggestion...
Oh, and *applauds* for Hannah! ;D

Well my human suffers from depression so she feels low a lot. I just tell her how much I love her and how much she means to me, I find that if I just show her all of the love I have it seems to make her happier
