J posted this on the humans' forum, but I want to get some daemon's opinion. J's acquaintance said that I was a bad influence and...well, here's what she said.
HDMDNAGO [7:54 PM]: why don't I like Capt? He brings out the worst in you. How does he bring out the worst in you? Well, he forces you to seperate your personality. And Capt tends to be the unfeeling, often hypocritic, too-cynical, too-pessimistic side. And even if he wasn't, it would make J that. I like Our World fine. It's where we live, the only place we COULD live. The reason our daemons (because I'm not saying they aren't real -- I always considered Endy my conscience, that part of me that keeps me from just giving up on school or vegetarianism), The reason our daemons aren't coporeal is because we need them not to be. I really love you when you're vaugely unfeeling, vaguely cynical. It's part of you. But when it's concentrated, it's unbearable
VFDJ42 [8:00 PM]: Right. That's another thing--what's wrong with imagining a corporeal soul if it helps keeps things focused, and encourages you to think and evaluate your life more?
HDMDNAGO [8:03 PM]: because for you it didn't. It doesn't. Or, it doesn't seem like it does. It's like...people say that drugs do that. Encourage creativity, reflection. And they might, for a time. But eventually, they destroy you. Sort-of. Capt, previously, hasn't been helping you. He's been making you, firstly, more withdrawn. More charismatic, asthetically, but ultimately more withdrawn. You talk to Tiller, but you don't talk with any of us.
I'm not reposting it because I particularly care much, but I want to know what other daemons would do/say or something in reaction to that.
