Could a daemon stay young-looking its whole life? Like, be a puppy or kitten, rather than settle as a dog or cat. Because I have a friend who thinks her daemon is a Labrador retriever puppy. And one of my best friends - I'm 90% sure - has a bear-cub for a daemon. When I asked her about that she said, "Yeah, that sounds right - a black bear cub." While another friend ( all my daemian friends agree ) has a full-grown bear daemon. She is fierce, proud, protective, and dozens of other reasons, while my bear-cub daemon friend is very curious, people tend to be attracted to her personality-wise but find her sometimes hard to get along with ... she can sometimes be annoying, as well, but we don't hold this against her. There are so many personality traits of hers that can be summed up in that one animal cub. But, if it did settle as a bear, would it grow up when it did? Or just settle as a different animal?

I guess there is a difference between someone with a kitten daemon and someone with a cat daemon (for example), it could mean that the person with the kitten daemon is more naieve and less worldly wise than someone with a cat daemon, though they still share common qualities. Okibi is probably the best person to ask about this, but thats what I think....

Yes, I could see that being true. Like a puppy being more curious ( and annoying ::glares at puppy:: ) than a grown dog. But I'm still a little curious here ... Like, could a preteen "outgrow" their puppy and become a dog?

That's a good way of describing it, and probably right. But I'm still a little curious here ... Like, could a preteen "outgrow" their puppy and become a dog? No one can say for sure, because it's never happened. I would say no... If the dæmon was meant to settle as an adult dog instead, it wouldn't settle until it became the adult version. It can't "settle" as a puppy and then "settle" as an adult dog. I know it's the same species, but all the subtleties matter with one's dæmon. Bah. Looks like I'm back to posting as a Guest for a while.

As long as I've got a thread in Q & A, I may as well post my other question here. Okibi, if I may make so bold as to quote from your site for a second ... DaemonRookie: OH! That reminds me. Kris said this in her LJ... We think I might've gained some physical aspects for a sec. I think I tripped her. XDaemonJadeX: hehe, really? DaemonRookie: Yeah..I haven't actually had an experience like the tripping one, but felt that, for a moment, Pocket became physical, or at least was actually apart from me for just a second. While feeling rather lazy one morning ( too lazy to lean out over the edge of the bed to check the time on my digital clock ), I jokingly asked Pocket to find out what time it was for me. He leaped up, bounded over, stared at the clock for a second or two and then jumped back over and curled up on my pillow, saying briefly, "It's 7:36." Well, I hadn't expected a reply. As quickly as I could I rolled over to see what time it was. 7:36. Pocket had been right exactly. I hadn't checked the time before that, so I had no sense of time. It was really strange ... Has anything like that ever happened to anyone?

What a coincidence.. I looked at the Entries section of my site for the first time in EONS yesterday, and then you post that quote from it. o.o Everything there just makes me embarrassed. I'm pleased to say I am not that silly, depressed teenager anymore. (After reading through it, I of course had to fix all the typos. XD I guess I didn't think to use Microsoft Word back then.) While feeling rather lazy one morning ( too lazy to lean out over the edge of the bed to check the time on my digital clock ), I jokingly asked Pocket to find out what time it was for me. He leaped up, bounded over, stared at the clock for a second or two and then jumped back over and curled up on my pillow, saying briefly, "It's 7:36." Well, I hadn't expected a reply. As quickly as I could I rolled over to see what time it was. 7:36. That's very interesting... Nothing similar has happened to Rookie and me. Would you mind if I used that in my Facts section?

Thanks, but I'm going to ask Riakar if she can make the letters bigger. They're so tiny and unreadable ... and I can't get the avatar to go any bigger ...

I was in the bathroom washing up last night, when I randomly thought of what Cat said Pocket did. Out of curiosity, I asked my dæmon to tell me what time it was, since the door connecting my room and the bathroom was open. He floated over there as Japoro and told me, "It's 11:20." I replied, "It's not 11:20..." thinking that sounded too late. And when I looked at my alarm clock, it turned out to be 11:19. When I gave Rookie a raised eyebrow he shrugged and said, "Why say 11:19? I just rounded up." (That's something I personally do when telling anyone the time.) Watching the clock, I noticed it was just thirty seconds away from 11:20 PM.
Anyway... could've easily been a coincidence, but still kinda interesting.

Dæmons certainly work in mysterious ways. I'm torn between thinking this is just a big coincidence or ... dæmons really can tell time. I haven't asked Pocket to do the clock trick since, but I'm not sure why. Honestly, it creeped me out when he did it ^^'

Ooh - random theory:
Maybe for people who see their dæmons 24-7 and talk to them a lot, it becomes easier for the dæmon to actually seperate itself - but not entirely, of course, or everyone'd be able to see them. But just this little tiny part can see certain things that their humans can't. I'm probably not making sense but ... it sounded logical in my mind ^^'

ooo. A similar experience happened to me. (Kavi's new name is Ranorock (Ran-o-rock)) I had to wake up one morning at 9:15. I was asleep and I heard Rano say "It's time." I woke up and opened my eyes, then watched the clock change from 9:14 to 9:15. I muttered "thanks" and got up and got ready for whatever I had to do. It took me a while to realize it was very strange.
