My daemon, Foban, did something very strange and unexpected a few months ago.
It was during a very tragic and emotional time of my life and he was trying to comfort me, I know. He was very quiet and low-key about it, but he changed, very suddenly, into what my mind immediately told me was some kind of Elf.
One night when I was feeling very miserable and depressed, he talked to me (while still in raven form) and told me that I was not alone. I looked up and said "I know, Foban." When my head back was down on the pillow I felt an eerie rippling feeling in my mind. It was enough to distract me momentarily from my grief and my head wanted to turn upwards. As I looked up I saw Foban, though now in a strange faerie-like form. His hair was long and black and his eyes deep green. He stayed in this form for two days, at the climax of my terrible sorrow.
Then he returned to his raven form.
I have no idea why or how any of this happened. Any suddestions or ideas?

Maggie, first here's a hug and a lazagna cookie. They help with sadness. *wise nod*
Seriously though, for you maybe this faerie like form is the symbol of sadness or whatever feeling you wer feeling during the time. Or maybe (i dunno the context of all this) you were feeling like a fearie, unique to the point of loneliness, since you feel you are alone in the world. In any case don't feel alone, you can always talk to me by PM if you need anyone.

Thank you for that idea. I'll think on it. I have tried talking to Foban about it all; he just sort of looks at me as if to say, "You know why and how." o.O That's very characteristic of him; he's always been cryptic like that at times. Once again, thank you for your kind words, I appreciate it. ~Maggie

Maggie, when I am sad he'll become a blue and black cat. The blue and black cat represents my depression. What Aleandra said is probably right. The part about the fairy form symbolizing what you were feeling.

*nods* It likely is. See, I am aware that a daemon may change from form to form, to fit different emotions, I just was not really aquainted with the idea that they could shift into something humanoid. However, I suppose since he was not entirely human then and Elf still qualifies as a daemon's form. Thank you, everybody, for your helpful ideas. ~Maggie

when i'm feeling particularly lonely or sad, falel becomes a human and wraps his arms around me. perhaps it is when you feel strong sadness, foban became a form closer to you so that he could comfort you better?
