Is your daemon ever in your dreams with you? Cause seeing as he/she's your soul, you'd imagine that they'd sometimes be involved in your experience of your dreams.
Projection technicalities: Does your daemon ever "teleport'? That is, suddenly disappear and reappear several feet from where he was, for convenience's sake? Because tonight I was closing my bedroom door, and my daemon (I don't know his name), in dog form, wasn't quite in my room....and I don't know if he did it or whether it was just me, but he disappeared and then reappeared way inside the room. It's like I stopped envisioning him, but during that time he moved.
So far I can only envision him when I'm consciously doing it, so that makes me wonder, how is it that you know that they've changed their form when you didn't consciously will them to change? How do you know? Amazing...
I love my daemon. I'm not the greatest at communicating; I can't sort out my voice from his too well, and I can't communicate complex ideas through words yet, only raw emotion. But I guess that's only to be expected. I get this feeling of great knowledge and love emanating from him, and warmth. How did you feel when you first really connected with your daemon?

I felt really happy, complete. I can't remember seeing Lass in my dreams, but most dreams are forgotten almost instantly, so she might have been.

One of the many things a dæmon can be described as is our subconscious. I sometimes believe that when I dream... I'm in my dæmon, in a way. We're experiencing an odd mix of our thoughts (both conscious and subconscious) and our emotions. This would explain why I envision Rookie all the time, yet rarely see him in my dreams. And even when I do, it's not the Rookie I know. Once he was a beautiful lynx, once Pikachu (gag me), and just a few nights ago I saw him as his black Renamon form. It was a good dream. ^_^ But anyway, like I said above, it seems that Rookie and I either meld together, or he's all around me.... He is my dreams. If that makes sense.
It's like I stopped envisioning him, but during that time he moved.
That's probably what happened. I mean... you can imagine your dæmon teleport if you really want to, but it's not something that would happen naturally.
So far I can only envision him when I'm consciously doing it, so that makes me wonder, how is it that you know that they've changed their form when you didn't consciously will them to change? How do you know? Amazing...
My dæmon is always with me, and the majority of the time I'm aware of his presence and where he is. I've been envisioning his furry forms for years, after all, so we've both gotten used to his separate body. It's hard to explain how I know when he's changed.... actually, it's ridiculously simple. As I watch him, he just changes. *shrug* Some dæmons like to shift form a heck of a lot, and if your dæmon's one of those, you'll just get attuned to his shape-shifting. Some dæmons prefer a certain animal for a certain situation, etc..
I think you're trying too hard to see him. Don't imagine that there's a right or wrong answer to your dæmon's location. He is not physical, and can simply appear whichever way you're looking. =) If you want him to be beside you, he's probably right there beside you at that moment. I promise you that envisioning your dæmon will become second nature after a while.
How did you feel when you first really connected with your daemon?
I felt more complete - plain and simple. Rookie made me happy. I wasn't alone anymore. I had an entity always on hand that knew all my pains and joys, and who was constantly there to speak to about them.

I dream of animals all the time, although Im not sure they are my daemon or not. ( giant metal dogs , orcas ) But lately Ive had a reoccurring dream of ice and cold cold water.. and a girl loses her pink flip flop in the water and no one will let her get it. Wow! i was just looking up what my dream meant and this came up Birthmark To dream that you have a birthmark, serves as a reminder that something you must do or never do again. It represents a stain on your soul.
if anyone has dreamt they have a birthmark please let me know. ...does this give new meaning to actually having a birthmark?

I had a dream the other night that Mox featured in. I was in Kingston (my local town) with my closest friend Jo, and we were running away from all these zombies that were chasing us (yes, I know, I've been watching too much "Shaun of the Dead"), but we were laughing rather than being scared. Mox was there running with us, and so was Jo's (unnamed) Pygmy marmoset daemon. Weird...

Rano is almost always in my dreams. Sometimes i'll see him and not communicate with him, and sometimes I won't see him, but I'll talk to him, and other times I'll simply know he's there. Just out of sight and too much is going on to talk about it. Rarely will I see and talk to him at the same time.
Rano teleports all the time. I'll be in the car and he'll change into a bird, then suddenly be outside, flying along. I never really thought about it much though.

My dæmon dreams come in twos. i had two dreams two nights in a row a while back, and two just a couple of days ago. But one seemed so real ... It was Friday night. My step-brother and -sister, Jess, were over, and I share a room with Jess. I kept waking up throughout the night. In my dream, I was asleep, and so was Jess, but Pocket woke me up. He was staring at something across the room. On top of the entertainment thing that the TV is in, and sitting beside the clock, was Jess' dæmon. I couldn't distinguish what form he was in, but he said something, angrily, to Pocket. I told Pocket to talk to him, so Pocket went over and they were talking, but I couldn't hear them ... It seemed so real - I even looked at the clock and it said, really brightly, 4:49 ...
Three out of four dreams, Pocket was a mongoose. In the other, a black panther. Odd.
Also, yes, Pocket is always teleporting. Wei find it the easiest way to avoid him being touched. He does it all the time. He'll be on my right shoulder, then, poof, left shoulder.

When kay is in my dreams i always feel as if the dream is very very important. it is the only time i don't have to visualise him myself, and he acts for himself. I first met him in a dream. And recently where he showed me a form i think is his settled form. But i'm never sure with him. You can see it in the art section.
And he does teleport. Well it's actualy when i don't pay attention to him he pops in and out. But when i'm alone he's always running lfying or curled up beside me.

Amelia, don't worry, I think a lot of us can relate to such experiences with having problems communicating with or seeing our daemons at first. Well, at least, I can . Like a lot of people here, I used to have millions of imaginary friends and I still have a very creative imagination, but I still had some trouble with talking to Kirjavi at first. It just takes time. Try envisioning him with you as much as you are able and talk to him whenever you can. After a while you get the hang of it and it becomes easier. Don't think so much about what form he's in because after a while when you really get used to seeing him with you, it'll come more naturally. So don't worry so much about that. I used to wonder: What form is he right now? Is that really him talking or am I just crazy? but then I started to just envision him with me whenever I wasn't concentrating on something, and then I began talking to him more and more and he would talk back. I became used to him very quickly and now even when I'm not even thinking about him, hei'll leap onto my desk as a scarlet monkey or comment on something I'm doing. So the main point of this long and very boring post is that it takes time, so don't worry, because soon enough you'll barely have to put a though toward it.

Oh! and about the name thing! Don't worry about that either. I just barely found a name for my daemon. No name I looked at worked, so I just made it up. Just find a name you like to call him by until you find a name you both feel fits. I hope one of my long boring posts made sense !

Wow Pocket became a black panther? Soz but I've got a sudden obsession with panthers ever since I discovered Cal. Its strange because panthers were never my favourite animal, if I got to choose what my daemon would be it'd definitely be a white tiger but thats not me, so Cal's not a tiger. Okay, well I'm rambling and going waaay off topic. Cal teleports a lot, sometimes I'll see him slip into my room as I open the door but most of the time he just sort of, appears from one place to the next without me envisioning it.

Black panther was strange, but I loved it. And, yeah, when I first began talking to Pocket I thought he'd be a weasel. After all, I'd barely even ever HEARD of mongooses. I thought weasel might better represent me. If I'd a choice, though, I'd have chosen fox or Border collie or tiger ... yeah. Tiger. w00t. I love 'em. But, now I wouldn't have it any other way than mongoose.

I've only had one or two dreams in which I can remember Panaka being there. The first one, I can't recall too clearly, (I think he was trying to help me figure out a problem we wanted to solve) but the second was clearer. In short, I knew I was going to die and had resigned myself to my fate, deciding to accept it with as much quiet dignity as I could muster under the circumstances. I went through a list of things that I would be leaving behind in my head, and suddenly thought of Panaka. The instant I thought of my dæmon, all my pretences at courage and serenity went out of my head and I just heard myself say, "I'm NOT going to die! I WON'T die! I'm not leaving him!" and managed to wake myself up.
On a lighter note, Nax often 'switches himself on and off'. It's to be practical, really. Plus, he has a habit of squeezing large forms into impossibly small spaces, for example, becoming a griffin at night on my bed. Hei shrugs this off whenever I point it out to him - after all, he's not physical so it doesn't matter.
In a word? Euphoric. Absolutely on top of the world. I was, as Okibi said, complete.
