SNLObsess say something about daemons being able to tell time without clocks. Like ESP. She said Cat would be able to tell me more about it.

Sorry for any delay in replying. Alrighty, it goes like this:
I don't know if all dæmons could tell time. In fact, I think there's only a few, at most, who are able to seperate themselves partly from their humans - enough to, say, read the clock. Rookie and - I think - Rome might be good examples. Ra says that she can see things behind her, apparently, and there was an incidence spoken about briefly on the Dæmon Page where Okibi tripped over Rookie. O.o Also, personally, I think dæmons are our more intuitive senses. So experiment. Oh, and the clock thing. I'm lazy. I'll quote myself. ( This, by the way, is the ninth fact listed on the Facts page on Okibi's site. You can check it out there. )
"I haven't actually had an experience like the tripping one, but felt that, for a moment, Pocket became physical, or at least was actually apart from me for just a second. While feeling rather lazy one morning (too lazy to lean out over the edge of the bed to check the time on my digital clock), I jokingly asked Pocket to find out what time it was for me. He leaped up, bounded over, stared at the clock for a second or two and then jumped back over and curled up on my pillow, saying briefly, "It's 7:36." Well, I hadn't expected a reply. As quickly as I could I rolled over to see what time it was. 7:36. Pocket had been right exactly. I hadn't checked the time before that, so I had no sense of time. It was really strange ..."
I posted that on the Forum a while ago. Then Okibi posted, saying she had a similar experience after thinking about that. Let me see if I can find the post ...

Wow. It happened to Okibi twice. Okay, here's what ya do. Go to the Question and Answer board, page one, and look for "Question -" posted by my good self. Everything is right there.

I'm starting to think that Tyb logs on here when I'm asleep to type things for me XD I can't remember ever mentioning that daemons can tell time....but the notion of it does make sense. Wei often just KNOW what time it is without looking at the clock. Can't explain it....just happens. *shrug* And Ameilia, bird daemons rock There's like three of us on here....lol..... Represent! *Tyb strickes rapper pose*

It happened to me and Rano once. He woke me up one morning at the exact time I was supposed to wake up. I had forgotten to set my alarm clock.
Actually, I've been pondering a certain experience I had once. I was at my dad's house summer before last and my friend came with me. I woke up briefly around 7 am and saw a cat beside me on my bed. I had just woken up and was quite delirious so I assumed it was my dad's cat. How I know I was delirious, I reached up to pet 'her'. Dad's cat is like... the devil. She would have taken all my fingers off in one chomp. I fell back to sleep and woke up a few hours later. The first thing I thought about was the cat. I remember thinking. 'that wasn't Paloma. Paloma is a girl. This cat was a boy.' I dunno how I knew, but I did. The next thing i thought about was the fact that we closed the door before we went to bed the previous night. I hopped up and looked at the door. Still closed. I went out and found the devil cat on the livingroom couch. I then asked Rano about it and he said he didn't remember. Twas quite strange.

I had a sort-of-but-different experience. One morning, really early, I woke up and, as you described it, was "delirious". I could see Pocket lying next to me. But he seemed ... different. More solid. So then ... I wasn't thinking, I actually went to stroke his head. His eyes snapped open and my hand stopped, faltering, inches away from him. What am I doing? I thought, amazed at myself. Did i just try to pet him? I blinked a couple times and he went back to normal, a mere projection. It was so strange.

It really creeped me out. Glad to see that it's happened to someone else and that i'm not crazy after all. But, yes what I saw was quite solid. Not a projection.

I have been waking myself up at the exact same time- early enough to be going to school- for a while now. It never occured to me that Zedith might be doing it!

I'll put up a funny experience I had recently. It was a boring afternoon, and I asked Tyb who would ask me to the Homecoming Dance at school, just for kicks. He looked at me very seriously and said "Chris. Chris will ask you". I was a little shocked--Chris is the guy I've liked for about a year now. The next day, sadly, I found out he already had a girlfriend, so I was a little bummed by it all. But still, Tyb just said "Chris will ask you--don't worry about it". I ignored this. Well, that afternoon, one of my guy friends (whose name is also Chris) came up to me and asked me to the dance as a friend. So it was true. Maybe my daemon is psychic....lol. Just thought you all may find that weirdness interesting.

I think that daemons are a little bit more in touch with the supernatural and such then their humans are. I think it makes sense- it would explain things like... animal psycics and such. They are more in touch with their daemon- maybe they don't know what a daemon is, but they are balenced with them. But that's just me.

I strongly believe that animals do not have dæmons. When you say animals are "psychic," I think that can be explained just by instincts. They are run by natural instincts, not a conscience... not a dæmon. But maybe primitive instincts can sense things we complex humans can't, even with our attentive dæmons.

Yes--animals rely so much on instinct that they can sense things that humans, with our logic and reasoning, have forgotten how to.

Exactly. I agree with Raven.

I'd have to disagree. I strongly believe that animals have souls. I don't think they have daemons, but I believe they have souls.

Okibi: The definition of 'soul' pertains only to people, though. I often tell others that the closest synonym for 'dæmon' is 'soul.' Humans have dæmons and animals don't.
soul ( P ) Pronunciation Key (sl) n. The animating and vital principle in humans, credited with the faculties of thought, action, and emotion and often conceived as an immaterial entity. The spiritual nature of humans, regarded as immortal, separable from the body at death, and susceptible to happiness or misery in a future state. The disembodied spirit of a dead human. A human: “the homes of some nine hundred souls” (Garrison Keillor). The central or integral part; the vital core: “It saddens me that this network... may lose its soul, which is after all the quest for news” (Marvin Kalb). A person considered as the perfect embodiment of an intangible quality; a personification: I am the very soul of discretion. A person's emotional or moral nature: “An actor is... often a soul which wishes to reveal itself to the world but dare not” (Alec Guinness). A sense of ethnic pride among Black people and especially African Americans, expressed in areas such as language, social customs, religion, and music. A strong, deeply felt emotion conveyed by a speaker, a performer, or an artist. Soul music.
Animals have a spirit inside... they have... something that drives them, but it's not the equivilant of a dæmon... in my opinion. I really can't say what I believe animals are made of, and I'm not expecting everyone to agree with me.
