Firstly, please excuse my spelling of daemon, as I'm on my laptop and the ae dipthong is unavailable to me. Okay. We all know that daemons represent the animal that best represents our souls. What about therianthropes? If you don't know, a therianthrope is a person who apparently houses the soul of an animal. Half human, half creature. One of the most famous ones being Mrs. Christy Grandjean, www.goldenwolfen.com, Goldenwolfen herself. Now, I'd like to hear everyone's answers on this. Would a therianthrope be more close to their daemon than the regular person, being half-animal themselves, or would they just dismiss their daemon, seeing as animals don't own daemons? Confusing thought. I personally belive that therianthropes are more in-touch with their daemon than anything else. A spirit guide, if you will, that guides them. What do you guys think?

Sounds like me a little at some times i do feel a little bit wild ;D. well in a sense they are i think it is just a part of them more than as a projection like ours. thats what wei belive, therianthrope could be like a different word for daemon in a sense.

What exactly qualifies you to be a therianthrope? I mean, how do you know? Do you just know? Is that really much different than daemons? I think I might be one, because when I see pictures of certain animals ,like wolves or polar bears, I can see their paws on the ice and the pressure and the snow and the smells. Like a flash of being somewhere else , like actually being there.

I personally knew two "Otherkin" (the term I'm used to). One is wolfkin, but their dæmon is a domestic cat. The other has a dragon's soul, yet their dæmon is a grizzly bear. So just note that the two forms aren't related. The animal side of them definitely IS all animal. I got the impression that the beastly half was not interested much in the dæmon... but that doesn't mean the human personality wasn't. Both the girls knew, talked to, and understood the importance of their dæmon counterpart. I wish I could remember better... but I believe Astra felt like the bear conflicted with her dragon persona too much... like the dragon inside overwhelmed the dæmon. Anyway, I'm sure it depends on the person. Some are close to their dæmons, and others just.. are aware of them. If you're interested in "how to know" you're Otherkin, I'd suggest checking out this site: www.otherkin.netN/m Site isn't working now. To summarize, you'd probably know by now... After all, the animal instincts are very strong in these people, and they often feel like they have the wings, tail, etc of the animal. Plus they tend to have dreams where they relive the animal's past... such as taking part in hunts.

Would a person like that have trouble finding what thier daemon was settled as? It seems like it would be for them. I think I might be one. When I was younger I was convinced I was really an animal traped in a human body. I do rely hevily on instinct. A couple of years ago I felt as though my body was attempting to morph into a wolf's body. I felt as if I closed my eyes and let things go it would happen. I think if I am one I'd have the sould of a wolf. Or however you say it. It might explain why I feel so connected with wolves. I often get the urge to howl. When I'm sad or happy. It's hard to supress it. It's a really strong feeling, so I let Soda do it for me. Interesting concept...

you know i agree with you as well sometimes it feels like i have animal emotions and other times only human. it is just so strange and by any chance do you think that could explain Kibas form? i have always in a sense felt like a wolf and felt very deep ties to the animals.

Hmm, actually, I used to believe I was one. But, you can't really take whatever the site says into too much heart. I'm sure everyone has had the feeling of being some sort of animal once in their lives. I have dreams of being a lycanthrope, but it doesn't make me a therianthrope. I don't mean to sound rude, but there's a thin line one must cross to be a therianthrope, or 'otherkin.' When I was a small child, I would often growl, snarl, bite and just do the things that my wolverine would do. It's just human nature, to me. A human is an animal, and we do have instincts we follow. I believe in my instincts in major situations and they usually turn out right. This is getting a little of topic. Oh well.

Okibi: Yeah, I was just giving examples. Truthfully, I think if someone's Otherkin, there'd be no doubt in their mind. It's not a 'well, maybe I'm a wolf, because there was that one time...' kind of situation. If these people are what they say they are, they feel it strongly. Those that I've talked to don't really doubt themselves, ya know?

Oh yes. I'm agreeing with you 100% there. There's just a strong belief in them, that they are what they say.

I beleive that's true. If are like that, then maybe you used to be a wolf in a past life... Sometimes I think that I am reincarnated, because I get these little clippings of pasts lives... For instance, why do I keep getting visions of this castle and me on a horse, in a dress? There is a legend about the Picese (I am a picese!): We are the eldest souls. We have been reincarnated 12 times, because we are the 12th zodiac. Maybe that explains it...

I'm also a Pices! I'm not religious at all, so I slant towards reincarnation.
