I was surfin the net one day when I came across a website with pics of breeds of Felis Silvestris which included one of the European wildcat.... and it appeared very similar to the type of cat Ash has been lately (*gasp* ). The housecat is also a type of breed of Felis Silvestris, so I was wondering if it really mattered whether or not if Ash settled as a tabby housecat or a european wildcat since they seem to be basically the same in appearance and behavior.

I'd say that it matters. The subtle differences are what makes them, well, different.

Depends on if you want to be technical or not--which can either help or not help you sometimes. For example, I know Tyb is some kind of magpie, but there are a lot of types and he switches between the varieties sometimes. I could say that hei is a Seychelles Magpie, but the problem is probably no one except me would know what the heck I was talking about. XD SO I usualy get by by saying hei is a tropical magpie, and people usually leave it at that. If you WANT specifics and questions though, go with the longer name, since some people prefer the details to the generals. Hope I helped!

The seychelles are islands. I thought that was interesting...
Anywho, seeing as wild cat is a pretty common term you should say that instead.

heh, nice one Spiral, perhaps the forum gods are trying to tell us something but as to tracy's already anwsered question, it can matter, but if you see what he really is it doesn't really matter what you tell others.

When I first read that Tyb was a magpie I thought -the avantar isn't a magpie- until I remembered that there are other kinds of magpies. The only ones we have in Australia are largish black & white ones which are the only magpie that I thought existed, Ha! I was wrong, so there is a Seychelles Magpie too? Yep--magies can be colorful too. The ones up here in da north look a lot like the ones down there in Australia. The only way I knew he was a magpie was that he had the basic shape--and I couldn't find any sort of tropical bird with a crow-like beak and long tail. Sooooo I searched for lots of magpies and eventually found the Green Magpie--which is what hei is most often.
