Are there any older members to this forum whose daemons have already settled and been settled for quite some time?
I know Yumi's close to my age, but according to what I've read her daemon hasn't settled yet...
So are there? Have things continued to change about your relationship with your daemon even though they no longer change their visual form?

I'm pretty sure Nymm's settled for good. It's been his fave form for a while, but now he rarely changes at all-if ever.

But doesn't settled mean that he would stop changing compleltey? So he's in the process of settling right now?
I don't know if daemon settling is something that abrupt...Like, once a daemon is settled, will it continue shifting back out of it's favorite form, and then back into it, but simply do it less and less and spend more time in it's settled form?
I guess what I'm trying to say is how long must a daemon be settled before it becomes impossible for it to change it's shape anymore?
[Even in HDM if you pay close attention you'll notice that Pantalaimon, for the most part, will take the form of a stoat, marten or ermine...even a polecat. All weasel forms and variations of his eventual final form. So was Pan, in fact, in the process of settling even as we first met Lyra?]

Cal's settled for good. I've only known his since October and he changed now and again but was mostly a panther, he almost never changes now but he is definitely a panther!

Sy's never changed since I first saw her. But then again, her color shifts from time to time. But all variations of the same basic browns, reds, and silvers. Remember, this world is different. Dæmons aren't physical, so neither are their forms, so even if they're settled, we can percieve change. It may not be their actual form, but it is how we see them.

Hmm interesting TU, what I was thinking but I couldn't quite get the words....well Pan changed a lot in the book, panther, leapord, monkey etc so maybe not in TGC but in the final book, perhaps, though he was a wildcat, and then a bird so...perhaps not

I'm not exactly an old memeber.. and I've not been dæmian long, even. But I do know my Lanh's settled. He's a pretty-ful cat-sized dragon, and his scales are blue with a bit of silver. He's so cute!
And I just love being called pretty.. and cute.. ^^

Well, as soon as I turned 12 I started drawing pics of Pheo which HDM wise would be the time he settled it was only 4 years later that wei had our official cieday and over the next 3 days or so he crammed as many changes as he could in, but keeping his settle form the most frequent one. But since then he hasn't really changed at all, accept for his chibi form. Things do change, we get closer, I learn more about him, ect.
Vicky is one of the oldest on the forum and her dæmon hasn't settled yet either, well it hadn't the last time I spoke to her. I think there may be others older but *looks around* they don't like to say their age.

I guess you could call me an ancient member. ^^ Rho isn't settled yet though. I think that the time it takes for a daemon to become settled is completely up to the daemon. If the daemon suddenly settles in a completely alien form, then that's ok, though I doubt that many daemons will do that exactly. They most likely will become things somewhat similar to their settled form. Like TU said, daemons don't have a physical body, so even if they have settled already, we may not know because we can still 'see' them change. To discover when your daemon is settled, it usually comes from him or her. They will probably tell you, or you will just know. If a settled daemon changes, that's completely normal. Don't worry about that. They are just taking advantage of the fact that they can still change in your mind's eye. They will still want to represent your most powerful emotions, or they will want to avoid contact with a person, or they might just want you to laugh when you are feeling down by becoming some weird crazy thing. See? I hope that makes sense.

Not me, thought I was, but now Zed's more of a tortiose-shelled color cat then anything.

I understand now...I keep thinking of daemons as having the same phsyical limitations that the daemons if HDM had.
On a side note: what's a Cieday?

Well, I haven't been here for too long, and I'm 14, but my daemon settled two weeks after we met, in November 2003, and he hasn't changed his form. Just in summer, he changed his fur as ermines do, but it just was because we felt different...He would never change now, not anymore. He feels really good into his ermine from. I do.
