Hi, I'm kinda new at this <as you can tell from my welcome thread..yeah> and I'm sometimes having trouble visualizing Val. Like, a lot of times he's a cat, but I can't tell what breed, and sometimes his tail is a normal cat tail, but sometimes its bushy, like a fox's tail. Also, it's sometimes hard for me to have conversations with him, for some reason I find it easier if I'm doing something else, or at school or something. And sometimes when he changes, it feels a little forced, he hasn't really done anything unexpected. Finally, today he crawled out a window and up a tree <out of sight>, and I didn't really feel anything, I felt like he was still beside me. Thanx if you could help. <Also, I'd like to say how great this forum and site is. I think it's really amazing how you guys can are finding your souls, and it sucks everyone's giving you a hard time. >

We have a lot in common. Capt takes a lot of vague, non-real forms. And he can go far away from me--the daemons int his world are different than the ones in Lyra, and that's what you have to understand. There are sme differences.
Keep talking to him. So what if you have to summon it for now? Someday, it will come naturally.

Well we in many ways felt the same at first-- changes seemed forced, conversation felt like it was really just coming from me, not her. Eventually you get better at it, it's as simple as that really. Slowly, visualzations willl feel more real, and conversation just flows. It's almost like a muscle, the ability to see and converse with our dæmons, now for you its atrofied, as it often is, but with work all will work out. Dal: He is a bit incohernt, we really should be asleep by now, not browsing the forum.

...Also, it's sometimes hard for me to have conversations with him, for some reason I find it easier if I'm doing something else, or at school or something... Hmmm I might be able to help you with this part. When I was first learning how to communicate with Asher, I used to write down a question or comment that was adressed to him and then his answer would just sorta pop into my mind as I wrote it down. But now wei've moved beyond the need for that because hei speaks to me faster than I can write it down. Then again, I'm a tactile/visual learner, so maybe that has something to do with it. Oh well, I'm weird. Yeah, you are.Psh, whatever.

When I first talked to Nax the conversations were always stilted and it was awkward. Envisioning him was difficult and his appearances were sort of erratic, but things became easier. It does take some time before everything flows, that's not unnatural I know I was quite anxious for a few weeks after I met Nax and I kept on worrying about his forms and not being able to talk to him well, but he told me to quit worrying. (dæmons are good at that sort of thing, heh!) Yeah, dæmons aren't physical here, so therefore I can imagine Panaka flapping around above me as a magpie and it doesn't matter that if he were corporeal it would hurt, because his form outside of my body is purely imagined. He exists inside me, so I can 'see' him wherever wei like and not feel anything like 'the pull'. Still, he prefers to keep close to me *shrug* Hope everything works out to be easier for ya!

I'm so glad I have read that. I find it kind of difficult to talk to Morlani sometimes, especially when I'm on the computer or at school. He just sits there patiently watching me, like he is doing now. But I was always worried that we weren't talking much. He told me not to worry about it, but I couldn't stop myself. The thing is, although I wanted to talk, I wasn't sure what to talk about. I feel much better now that I'm not the only one.

Six years is a long time- although a lot of it I never really even though of dear Kryii, I have to admit. When I started in on her seriously recently, it was always a little hard to tell where I stopped and she began. She'd scold me if I put words into hr motuh, so to speak, however, and still does.
A lot of times, I never really 'feel' her by me at all. I could point and tell you where she is exactly, but I can't feel a pull or anything like that. I just KNOW when I want to.
Even more, now, she keeps a bit of a running ommentary in my head. She takes perverse pleasure in distracting me in the middle of things. Like when I'm getting slaughtered by a gorilla in Tomb Raider, -_-

Gyaa...It's happening again @_@ I thought I was getting better, but I'm still having trouble. especially with visualizing. I'm really bad at seeing him, because I'm not sure, how he would walk, how big he would be in comparison to this, how long it would take for him to get to A to B... And I also have trouble seeing minor details, like his eyes.. I'm sorry to keep bothering you guys, but I just suck at this. Don't mind her, she's over-reacting again.

*rolls her eyes*
Okay. We're done.
As far as visualization, it's hard. Especially when she's in the form of an owl with a six foot wingspan in a room ten feet wide. I imagined her smaller. I always did, and then felt bad for it.
It takes time. I've been doing this for six years, and I still have trouble with visualizations. I'm not a kitty person, and that alone is enough to make me almost always have to conscously adjust her size to that of a kitty, not an Ausstralian Shepherd. -_- Slight difference, *cough*
So the best advice you're going to ever get is to practice. To keep at it... and it will get easier.
