Yes, I use a lot of capatalisation in my titles. ^^. Anyway ...
I'm a Brit. Yes, that always seems to be such an attention puller. Heh. I'll leave at that for now.
So. It's stated on the site that people sometimes decide that their daemon is a different gender than that which they originally thought. Obviously this also carries sexuality connotations, ktl., ktl., ktl.. ^^. What about daemians though? Last night was my first conversation with my daemon, and I realised that I didn't know what its gender was. I'm going to wait for our relationship to develop slightly first, though. I'm sure it will emerge. ^^. Anyway, what's the situation on gender awareness with daemians?
Whisper
N.B. - ktl. Is short for koi ta loipa. Ancient greek for 'and the remaining things'. Yes, I'm eccentric. ^^.
P.S. - Yes, I use '^^' almost to the point of gluttony. ^^.

Let me be the first to say hello and welcome to the forum. I'm actually a relative newcomer myself, but everyone here's really nice. Hey!The yellow text was Kili, my daemon. He's settled as a black leopard, but changes around for fun and because a leopard can't fit into a full car. About your question, I think it just takes time...or maybe not. I dunno. When I first met Kili I just knew he was male, without even asking him or anything. Why would you ask me my gender? Would you just go up to someone on the street and say, "Hello sir/madam. Are you a boy or a girl?" No you wouldn't.Don't mind him. Sooooo...just give it time. You'll know eventually. Almost every aspect of daemons works that way.

Fellow Brit! *tries to resist tackling* My entire family is Brittish but are forced to live here in America--its nice to see (or see writing from) a friendly face. Welcome! Okay, so the deal with daemians that I've noticed is that usually their daemon's gender follows along with the daemian's sexual preferences. IE, a gay man usually has a male daemon, a lesbian female usually has a female daemon, and those who are truly bi's daemons are either male or female, depending upon which the daemian is more attracted to. The reason for this is that the daemon's gender has to even out the humans, for obvious reasons. On Okibi's website (which is reffered to a helluvulot on this forum, I'll assume you came here from there) she reffers to friends who have said that their daemons were the same gender as they were; they didn't think that they were gay/lesbian/bi/whatever; only to come out a year later. Soooo basically, if your daemon's the same gender as you, thats a pretty sure sign that your'e probably homosexual. ^_^U Don't worry about it though, it does take time to sort things out and get used to talking to yourself (we use that joke around here a lot), you'll get to know yourself and him/her fairly quickly. Good luck, and welcome again! Try to stay around awhile, pull up a chair, get nice n comfortable, eh? Tell us about yourself!

Salve! (Hello!)
Nobody here's more eccentric than me. My SN itself is Latin, meaning 'shadow to the tryants'.
Well, I can't say it any better than they did, so I won't try.
Seeya 'round!

Eh, if it was me, I'd just pick whichever gender I like and go from there. =) At first I wondered whether my dæmon was female, but I just stuck with male and that's what he is. *shiver* And to think I was almost a girl...

Thank you all for the prompt replies. ^^. You have all doubtlessly noticed that despite being on, I still haven't replied. Well, fairly obviously, I am now. Thanks to a very long sleep, my consummate lethargy has been momentarily lifted. -Yawn-. ^^.
I'll reply to you each separately and in order, as it will make my post look longer. ^^.
KK - Greetings beautiful K. -Flamboyant bow-. ^^. I refer to you as 'K' because obviously the other 'K' is reserved for the noble Kili. -Another bow-. I thank you both for this boon of a greeting which you have bestowed upon me. ^^. (At this point I must note that others may well have a less enthusiastic reply as the shadowy veils close about my mind once more.). K, I must particularly thank you for your assurance in response to my question. ^^.
SNLObsess - Sweet lady, I have no inclination to stop you from tackling me, so please, do as you wish. Ah, so often I find that to be the plight of the children of fair Brittania. ^^. Thank you for your explanation of daemon's gender, despite the fact I already knew of this, your beautiful words have clarified it within my mind. I have indeed traversed the cyber void to radiant Okibi's site, and then to here. I also thank you for your assurances, and perhaps I will take your suggestion soon enough. Actually, you are one who can alter the tenuous fabric of the roleplaying forum, are you not? I have a few questions which I would like to address, do you mind at all? Would you prefer me to PM you?
Aphotic Wake of the Tyrants - Ah, a fellow latin speaker! ^^. Forgive me, but my skills are more than fairly rusty. Meus bona super vos. I too hope to encounter you about this ambrosial forum.
Hannah - Sweet Bringer of Enlightenment, may my praise shower eternally upon you. ^^. Bright Rhokath, you too have my thanks. ^^. Though this may seem inordinate compared with paltry and feeble gratitude I have offered to the others, despite deserving more, there is reason. Namely being permission just to let things flow, and trust if I make a wrong assumption, it will be repaired. Once more, thank you. ^^.
Steph - You have my forgiveness and pity. ^^. -Falls to floor and hugs back-.
Tatl - Thank you for your advice. Valian, be calm, for that storm was negated.

...oh, and don't worry about "Vahnilli." We call her Ghost. She can come off a bit unfriendly, but she's nice once you get to know her a little ^-^ I wonder if people ever have genderless daemons... Anyone know of any such cases?

Hey! Another Brit! Well I'm Welsh, so you'll probably hold it against me Just kidding. Welcome to the forum! And take your time, if you force it in these crucial first weeks, you could end up feeling frustrated. Good things come to those who wait.

-Slight cough-. I'm kind of, well, male. ^^.
-Ravenously, yet with perfect ettiquete, devours the cookies-. I just tend to speak with honeyed phrases and flowery language, so not Middle Ages.
My drama teachers welsh, and he's so great! -Huggles the welsh-person-.
I'm very full, hence the ... not me-ness of the post.

Wooo.....I've only known one other person to have such a love affair with a thesaurus. Thankfully, your'e a more elloquent than he ever was. Your'e welcome for clearing things up--here's hoping you'll stay for a while! Feel free to PM me about the RPG forum.....as of now it is kind of failing desperately, but if what we've been planning is to come out nicely, I'm sure you can join in on the new version to begin relatively shortly. Now, I need to run off and find a thesaurus so I can sound vaguely intelligent--PM me with your questions!
