If I were afraid of Triba, wow, I dunno how I'd get along in my life! If he had a corporeal body, then some people'd be terrified that're afraid of bats or rabies....to be shunned like that would be terrible. Wei wouldn't be able to go on, being hated in such a way!
Triba: Get a grip, Chas. People like bats.
Keyword is SOME, Triba.

Yeah, I think that if daemons were visible and corporeal there would be a kind of discrimination against people just cause of the form of their daemon. I think it wouldn't be a conscious thing, but it would still be there. By the way, I love Maddox's settled form, and everyday I see how it fits me more and more, and I love it more and more.

Oh, of course. Somethings would be better in the world if daemons were corporeal, but there would be a LOT of discrimination if, say, a person had a mouse for her daemon. She might be called a wimp or something. Or someone would be deemed untrustworthy if they had a snake daemon. And of course, that's jusst horrible discrimination... I mean, Zedith likes being a garter snake every once in a while, and I'm a very trustworthy person.

Exactly. Besides, if someone fears an animal, if someone's daemon were settled in taht form or at least currently taking it, that person would be singled out. I know a great many people that are afraid of bats, one of Triba's many reasons why he dislikes the idea of being corporeal. (aside from the vulnerability it'd give us and all the bat-stalkers, plus wei'd possibly get shot at or he'd be touched, because heck, "bats have rabies" is a common rumor lately) Skunks would be feared and stayed away from, wolverines and badgers would be thought of as cruel......man, I could go on forever. Every daemon has good qualities, but people don't realize it. It makes me sick. x.x

Yes. That is true. Though if daemons had been corporeal since...forever, people would be more likely to recognize the traits of a person with a wolverine daemon, instead of automatically assuming they were cruel. You gotta think about how differently we'd view different animals if daemons were phisical beings since forever...or something like that. Now if daemons suddenly were just...there, then that would be a different story. It might take a while for people to adjust to the sudden...creatures that talk and follow them around...I think it would be funny. Just picture the look on random people's faces... that shocked I-don't-believe-what's-happening look. It's hilarious. In my mind at least.

I totally agree with you. I told my grandmother that if she were to me an animal, it would be a weasel, because that's what she's like, and she got all upset and started to cry in the car on the way to Harry Potter.
If your dæmons were corpreal to only the humans (which it is for me), I think I would be okay with that.
actually, it's not like we can really change our true forms. (unless we go through a change majorly!!!) I like Haim's form, I just wish he could still change, just for once. 'cept his tail feels all tickly on my skin, and that's very comforting!
You know what's strange? when I met my dæmon, he was basically already settled. why is that? I AM ONLY TWELVE!!!

Well... Soda told me that he should have settled when I was 11. He said it was the righ time, but I was vulnerable right then, then my life changed, and I changed with it....Recently many major things have influenced my life, changing me more than it should. Or at least more than i think it should. Friends in the hospital about to die, dealing with depression, this weird sleep issue, my friends not being who I thought they were... Ugh. Me no likie. Hopefully I will quit being vulnerable to outside influences....The way he described it was that at the time when he should've settled, I had a tiny hole in my defenses. That vulnerable spot was picked at and picked at then was torn wide open. I'm not quite sure which defenses it tore a hole in, I have more than one line of defense...
In short, if things worked out right, Soda would've settled when I was 11. Some people just are ready for their daemons to settle earlier than others. Like some people are short for a long time, and everyone else is tall, then they get a sudden, very late, growth spurt. Or the other way around. Err....see?

well if daemons were corpreal in this world then you are right there would be descrimination wich is one of my greatest angers about this world in general. did you know that there are only two black kids in my school and a single asian out of 1800 kids. it is sad and they are descriminated against for going to a rich white upper class school . sometimes i hate were i live with a passion. but if i ever see some one being descriminated against the person doing it is going down. ( unfortunatly i am one of those rich white uper class people but i dispise it it just not right)

Discrimination and prejudice are horrible things. Though, with other animals if one of their species is different, it will be shunned, and eventually die prematurely. In gazelle herds every once in a while a white gazelle will be born. The herd will abandon it. If it lived, the herd would suffer. It is instinct for these animals to do so. They are not intending to be mean, but they have to be to survive. My theory is that if a person is different, some people will feel the urge to ridicule them. Try to drive them away. It is instinct to do so, and without this instinct less people would do such things. But it is just a theory...

Maia, same here. The longer Kir has taken his fox form, the more I see it fits me. The more I see him, the more I realize just how much like a fox I am-the good and the bad and I come to love it more and more.

I'm glad Zedith hasn't settled yet. Because if he had, as a black wolf, anyway, I wouldn't be happy. Wei're not... wei're not a wolf so much anymore. He is sometimes, but now his bigger form is usually a snow leopard, and mostly he's a weasel or a raven. Or an american marten.
ARGH NO CHANGE I LIKED THE WOLF ZED
Zed: Well, jeez. I can't help it. *Flicks tail*
