Okay, I just got to thinking about daemons, or, er, why they are called daemons. I was just curious if anyone else was considering calling them something else, so as it doesn't sound that we are just using 'some idea Phillip Pullman came up with'. Just a thought, curious to see the results. Thanks guys.

I like both soul and totem. But totem is broader. Too broad. My totem is a raven, but I doubt Rho will settle as one. So I picked soul.

I voted Daemon. And if you think it's some kind of name related to demon, use the spanish word, daimonion. I like it ^^. But soul and daemon are nearly the same, so I guess both are ok.

Well, when I explain daemons to people, I often call them my "soul" or "spirit guide". It isn't until later that I use the word daemon. Sooooo... *shrugs* I can't pick one!

I use daemon alot, but oftentimes when writing to myself, I use daimon. So I voted daimon.

Soul works okay for me, although he's always just been another side of me.

I definitely prefer soul to all the others. Totem kinda works, but I have three totems, so

You shouldn't do that anyway. SPAMMER!!!!!
Ok. I prefer 'Soul' 'Daemon', no matter what basis in reality, or how old it is, it is not my language. I prefer english. Do I make sense?

Daimon or soul works for me. I use dæmon, but it does make it kinda difficult because when people hear me talk about it, they sometimes respond: "Woah. You talk to your DEMON? *grabs torch and pitchfork*" And I get tired of explaining that Pan's not some evil spirit and I'm not possessed . (Most of them still think I'm crazy, but they can live with that ;D)

I like the term Daemon but something original would be waaay cool! I don't think soul would be right because although I agree, I think people would get a little bit confused when you explain the concept of talking to your soul, 'so it's an animal? Woah - wait a minute'

I agree with Zoe, if it weren't for people being all,"my soul's an animal? Dude o.o" then I'd probably think that "soul" is a good way to refer to a daemon. I think something original would be very cool.
P.s. 100th POST! WOO!
*pops party-popper* ;D
