Aww, you're so cute. ^^ I love your hair. I've always wanted to crop mine, but it's curly, so I look weird. o.O Plus, it's starting to get really long now. When it's pin-straight, it almost reaches my waist.. Nice welcome sign.

I love curly hair. it's great becayse we don't have to spend money to get it permed. I've tamed my hair. When I was really little, my mom had it cut to my neck, so I had the biggest afro ever. Those pictures made me crack up. But now, we buy expensive shampoo and conditioner and I have to brush it almost everday. It's not as bad as it used to be. Mwhaha. The hairdressers helped me. If you're hair gets too wild, ask them for help.

Hey! my mom used to do that too! had the afro too... I still get teased about it... i got teased on a lot as a kid...>_< ah well. Really? hairdressers here only know how to deal with super strait chinese hair. So they only cut it, and it gets worse. I recently cut it myself (whooo! it was fuuun! ^_^ wasn't strait but who cares??) and just use a chinese "chopstik" to hold it, and no matter how long it is, it's convenient...^_^ but tell me how do you do it? (sorry maia!)

Your site it teh spiffiness. ^^ You are cool. Your hair is awesome, and you have a pretty smile. Go you. (P.S. : I hated it when that horse drowned. It made me very sad. *cries at the memory* I really should watch that movie again...) Rawr. I love my curls, but they're so high-maintainence! If I don't brush them, they get all tangled; if I brush them, they get frizzy; if they get frizzy, I have to put spray on them, which I don't like. ><;;;;;; In the immortal words of my friend Steffi: *french accent* "You must suffer to be beautiful."

I have rock-star hair. Like that lead singer from Twisted Sister. I swear it. It's big, and poofy and all ringlettes. Except mine's black and not quite that long. Pretty soon it will be, though.
My mom spends way too much on shampoo and conditioner. Roar. Alea and Raven, I have some tips to help you out, if you need them.
1) Buy good quailty conditioner. And look on the bottle for things that say "For curly hair." it costs the same as regular conditioner, but it'll help you so much more.
2) Use a wide-toothed comb. Those things are great. And try to comb your hair in the shower, when it's still straight and wet.
3) Straighten it every so often. It helps, believe it or not to de-tangle it. And if you know you're not going to take a shower the next morning, sleep with your hair in braids, or ponytails, though I prefer braids because you can sleep on your back if you need to.
4) Try to avoid hairspray. It's evil. Makes your hair all sticky and things. Gel and mouse, is good, though. ^^ And if you can, try to find a store nearby that deals with African Hair Care products (that might be a little hard for you Alea). And buy de-frizzing cream and super gel and curl de-tanglers. You could also try Wal-Mart, because I know they have them there, too.
So, that's it. That's how I tamed my mane. Hehe. ^^ Good luck.

My tip is......be ultra lazy like me! Cut all your hair off and just have bed-head everyday!

You should see my bed-hair. It's not that bad looking, actually. I have some strands that are straight, and some are chunky. I've actually gone to mall with bed-head and gotten compliments about my hair. Whoo!

But we got confused with you instructions...might have to get sleep before reading it again GAH! I have the prefect solution! SHAVE IT ALL OFF! then no more hair to worry about! ever. ^_^

Hm... I hate my hair. I don't have curly hair, but I can't wear my hair down without straightining it. Otherwise it is all pouffy. I hate it when my hair gets pouffy. When I brush it, it gets worse. Does humidity cause this, because if it does, I'm moving to west texas. East texas is too humid. I like the color of my hair though... I'm thinking of cutting it all off like maia, but because of recent experiences with short hair, I think i'll wait a while.
Great site Maia!

Yes, it's the humidity. My hair goes all, "PUFF" in summer. I have to use a special cream so it doesn't go all dry and what not.

i recently cut 16 inches of my hair off and donated it to locks of love (a company that makes wigs for children who had chemotherapy and are bald). it used to be about waistlength and really puffy - it's naturally wavy, so that was bad. >.< but now it's short, and i dyed it ruby red (yay!). it's slightly puffy, but that just makes it look cool. ^^
