((OC: If you really want to know, there's a 'window' in the slums under a dead tree that leads to Cittàgazze, but I'm sure that there are others. Besides, there's someone in this RPG with the subtle knife, right?))
Adrienne and Haelphaesus wandered through the city of Cittàgazze, looking for anyone or anything that could tell them where they were. After many hours of searching, they realized that it was devoid of people.
Exhausted from their efforts, the two found what appeared to be a comfortable inn. They went inside and found a room for the night. A single candle lit the homely little room that contained only a bed, a chair, and a nightstand. A large picture window was open over the bed and it allowed Adrienne and Hael to view the Meditteranean-like ocean outside.
"What a day," Adrienne sighed as she cuddled up with her cat dæmon and the fluffy feathered pillow. The invited arms of a peaceful sleep wrapped themselves around her and Haelphaesus and gently closed their eyes.

((OC: Sorry for double posting, but I'm getting bored of waiting for someone else to find a window to Cittagazze!!!))
Adrienne was rudely awakened by a vicious poke from a stick. "Ow!" She opened her eyes and found herself face to face with a red haired girl. "Who are you?!" Adrienne cried out in surprise. As she looked around, she realized that she was still in the room she had fallen asleep in, but was tied to a chair and that Haelphaesus, in his raven form, was in the jaws of the red haired girl's lion dæmon.
The girl laughed with cruel delight at her captive's awakening and shouted for her companions to join her. She then returned her gaze to Adrienne and inquired, "Where is it?"
"What are you talking about?"
The girl grabbed Adrienne by the shoulders and shook her, hard. "Tell me where it is. I know you have it!"
"What is the 'it' that you're talking about?!"
"It! The locket! I know you have it! I see it in your eyes, you dirty traitor!" The girl jumped up and down in frustration. "Tell me where it is or Exodus will crush your dæmon to bloody pieces!" Exodus, her lion dæmon, began squeezing Haelphaesus with his muscular jaws.
Adrienne could feel her dæmon's pain and cried out, "NO! DON'T!!"
The crazed girl shouted, "Then tell me where it is!!"
As Adrienne searched the room her eyes, she spotted her leather pack lying at the foot of the bed. Then she remembered the locket of her grandmother's that was hidden inside of it. "It's in there! Inside of the leather bag!"
The girl cackled insanely and ran to the pack, then savagely proceeded to open it and dump it's contents onto the floor. The lovely silver locket slipped out of its black velvet wrapping and landed with a tink onto the ground. The red haired girl, in a state of absolute hysteria now, scooped it up and laughed.
"I've got it! In my very own hands, I've got the Heart of all Worlds!! Ha ha!" She held the locket's chain between two pinched fingers and held it infront of Adrienne's face. "Lookee here, you traitorous scoundrel! I've got the key to everything! He he!" The locket's delicate surface was reflecting the light coming in through the window of the rising sun. It's engraving was of two knives making an X-shape by crossing the other, surrounded by a heart. "Who needs the knife! The boy, he stole it... oh yes, but I have this!" She continued to ramble on, but Adrienne was not listening, for she was planning on a way to escape from this girl...

Lee and behemouth wandered along the semi slums till they came upon a grassy knoll. behemouth stopped. ' whaaaaaaat' Lee whined. he didnt say anything but wandered over to a tree moving his head from side to side. Lee followed trrying to mimick his head movements....what was he doing...? he stretched his bear head out sniffing and...his head dissapeared AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Lee screamed in surprise. She grabbed his neck and yanked him closer, his head reappearing. She was breathing heavily but he just grinned ( also frightening considering his size teeth and ugly face ) he moved away from her and climbed into nothing. She screamed again and followed suit.
Once on the other side she spent nearly an hour examining the ' hole' . Finally she got bored , not really finding any answers as to what it is was or what it was doing there, so shemoved on. It seemed to be deserted. It was creepy, in a peaceful, abandoned carnival kindof way. She found a beach and walked along it. It started to rain lightly. She sat down and her and behemouth started to make a large sand castle. Eventually she remembered how tired she was and she layed down in the not nearly finished but still protective feeling castle and slept.

"No Aiko don't!" hissed a small, leopard like cat, "you don't even know what it is!" but Aiko paid him no attention and began, slowly and steadily, to move toward the small patch of air that seemed to quiver uncontrollably in the wind. "Aiko, please, I beg of you! Don't touch it!" "Calm down, Kiyo" the girl snapped. "You're breaking my concentration." and without another word between them, Aiko gently lifted her spirited daemon out of the gently wavering tree that seemed to disappear into the window like patch of air and boldly, without hesitation, took a step forward and entered another world.
Girl and daemon found themselves in a foreign land, that ached with silence and desertion. They didn't say a word, Kiyoshi gazing intently into the heavy darkness surrounding them, his glittering emerald green eyes, flashing nervously.
"Aiko", the little cat whispered, "there's an inn ahead and wei cannot wander so aimlessly in such an unfamiliar place." "I know, but the thought of entering such an empty place frightens me", the girl replied in the faintest of whispers. "We must, Aiko. Staying outside, unprotected from anything and unsheltered, is far more dangerous than anything wei might find in there."
and together, their minds set, the small Japanese girl with her margay shaped daemon strapped close to her chest, strode into the intimidating inn, their forms swallowed up in the cursed gloom as they approached.

Adrienne looked frantically around. There's gotta be some way to get away from this nutcase... but how? Then she spotted a Japanesse girl and her margay-like dæmon through the crack in the inn's bedroom door.
"Help! Help me!" shouted Adrienne. Oh please let her hear me.
The red haired girl snickered. "Oh, there's no one here that can help you now.... I've got It, so I don't need you anymore. Exodus, crush the dæmon!"
The lion's jaws began to clench down onto Haelphaesus's feathered body. Hei immediately began to rapidly change forms.... mongoose... cat... turtle... weasel... hedgehog... lynx... wildcat.... fox... monkey... but the lion's jaws were unrelenting.
Hael, change into something big! Adrienne cried out from her dæmon's pain.
I... I can't... I... don't want to kill the girl, just escape...
Think of something!!
Armadillo... miniature dragon... hare... hawk... eagle... porcupine... The red haired girl and the lion shrieked and let go Haelphaesus, who then became a tiger crawled to Adrienne, who was still bound to the chair.
"You....," gasped the girl as she pulled the spikes from her dæmon's mouth. "You're going to die a slow and painful death....! I'll kill you..."
"Oh no you won't!" Roared Haelphaesus as he lunged at the lion dæmon.
His razor-sharp claws ripped at the lion's hide and blood was spilt everywhere. But the lion was armed just as fearsomely and tried to bite down on Haelphaesus's neck to snap it.
As the mass of fur continued to fight a bloody battle, Adrienne and the Cittagazze girl cried out from their dæmon's pain and begged them to stop. But the dæmons were protective and continued their frenzied biting and slashing.
Hael... I... I'm so... so dizzy....
It's because I've lost... so much blood... but I cannot stop... I must protect you... Hei roared even more fiercely and continued his deadly dance with the lion. Adrienne's eyes were dimming... perhaps this was the end...

Aiko had just curled up on the dusty bed, when Kiyoshi leaped from the bed as a bengal tiger, his tail flickering nervously behind him. crash. bang. yelp. thump. Aiko heard it too. A skilled fighter, she thrust herself out of bed and her hand immediately fell to the hilt of her sword. She drew the deadly weapon from its sheath, its mirror like blade reflecting a glimmer of light that leaked through the crack in the door.
"Wei're not alone." her tiger daemon told her, "I can see them through the door."
The girl didn't hesitate, she threw the door open as she flew with perfect speed into the faintly lit hallway. She landed lightly without making a sound and beheld with her own gaze two girls. Both were exhausted, their breathing heavy, and their faces dripping with sweat and blood. The daemons ignored the strange girl's sudden appearance, but the girls turned to look. The girl with the rapidly changing daemon stared at her in desperation, the red head with disdain, loathing even.
Aiko was a good judge of character. Before her mother had fallen ill, she had taught her the tricks of seeing. It was not seeing through your outer eyes, but your inner eyes, your mind's eyes. Aiko remembered this lesson clearly and could see the intentions of the two spirits. Without even blinking, the Aiko and her tiger daemon took to the air, her sword glimmering in front of her, and with one swift, fluent movement, she plunged her sword into the girl with fiery hair, a wretched scream the last of her. The lion disappeared, his opponent collapsed and Aiko helped the unconscious girl who had survived the encounter to the small bed in the next room.
