I'm in ninth grade and taking French. Also, my mum is teaching me bits of Welsh, it's a little thing between her and I. And of course, I'm picking up the odd word of Japanese off the Internet ... Domo arigato. ^^;

I'm planning on taking German. *curses the school system for not having japanese at the high school* I know some japanese. ohiogazymus (sp?) however it's spelled, it means hello good morning... or something. I can count to about 60, but I dont' really know the proper way of saying some of the numbers. I can say 'hand'. It's 'te'. I learn random things from karate. (karate: empty hand)
eh... I think i'm rambling or something *doesn't know the word*...boasting? I dont' mean to. But it's not often that i get to tell people about my knowledge of forein languages. (forein to me at least)

Zen: Naw i don't live in France, it's just a french school. But it's cool since we're all from different countries in my class and even if we're not many (just 10 ppl) we all get along really really well, a thing i will regret leaving. My school is the best. Even if our classrooms are made of metal containers. *counts* oh yes i am in 12th grade! *smiles stupidly*

aleandra - metal containers? >.<
i'm noticing a pattern with all the dæmians here, everyone - we all like languages, we're all relatively smart... and we were all sort of teased for that at a younger age. we all seem to be the un-cool kind of cool, too. ^^ (augury and ra - yay uncool cool! we SHOULD have a party. XD)

Yeah the metal containers you see on big commercial boats! When it rains hard, we can't hear the teachers. I'll try to find you a photo of my school.

and a PAR-TAY we certainly shall have!
Somehow. XD I noticed the similarities, too- I bet most of us were precocious kids with "overactive imaginations," eh?
Hannah- you spell it as "ohayo gozaimasu," actually. The Japanese language apparently doesn't have a regular old consonant sound, only syllables, so when you write japanese with a roman alphabet there are tons of silent u's everywhere. When I first started learning a bit of japanese (picked up from subtitled anime and the internet, mostly), I didn't realize they were silent.
Me: ohayo gozaimasoo! japanese person: ....WTF?
Haha, I'm a dork. *corrects self* I mean, I'm the uncool kind of cool. *shifty eyes*
That bit about karate meaning "empty hand" is really cool. I learned something new today! *does a jig*

Yeah, I agree, there are alot of similarities. I love foreign languages-and I want to learn latin too (it is a very beautiful language). Foreign language has always been my strong point.

Ooo over active imagination! That's us! ^_^ my friends look at me weirdly when i let the crazy out. But they know it's normal and just wait till it passes. ^_^ here's a photo of our school (the part for the "big kids". The primary part is real old and it's a building you'd swear was there when the english colonials were there ok not that old but still) mora-cioccolata.skyblog.com/2.html(photos 3-4 of the page. It's a friend's blog, so i do appear quite a few times. Will you guess who i am? Oh and it's in argot french, so even if you know how to speak french, some workds will be weird)

I love languages. One of the traits of having a raven soul, I think--It all ties in. But it seems like we have a lot in common anyhow, so...
Fluent in: English, French Basic knowledge of: Spanish, German, Italian Learning: Hungarian, Latin, Japanese I have a Latin instructional book that I got on eBay. It's worthwhile to look there.
*spouts language* Chou-fleur. Queso. Heinlagen. Saltimboco. Vodgok. Puella. Suishou. XDDD
EDIT: (I'm in eighth grade, BTW.)

It poped up ok on my computer... -sigh- I wish I knew more languages. I'll show you how unlanguagy I am Fluent in: English, prison lingo (wich isn't technically a real language, but it is really hard to understand if you don't know about prison systems) Learning: Japanese, German, Illicano, and I'm kindof learning latin. I have to know a lot of latin words for Biology. I can read a few Japanese words. Like the symbols. I know 'greenbelt' and another one. It's weird. Very unlanguagy(if that's even a real word) other languages facinate me though. Augury: Oh. I didn't think I spelled it right in the first place. Thanks, I'll keep that in mind when reading japanese that has been translated to the roman alphabet.
