Well, since this is the only area of the forum that hasn't had any posts yet, I thought I'd christen it with this one. These aren't quotes Ive made up by the way, but just some bits and pieces I found that have a daemony (is that even a word? Okibi?) feeling about them. Please add any others that you find, or even better post some that youve written yourself! "My soul into the boughs does glide : there like a bird it sits, and sings, then whets and combs its silver wings..." -Andrew Marvell "A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother" -Proverbs 18:24 (yes, I know its in the religious sense but it can relate to daemons too) "Be willing to do what your soul directs you to do, if you want to create what you are asking for" -Sanyana Roman "My soul, do not seek Eternal life, but exhaust the realm of the possible." -Pindar "I celebrate myself and sing myself, And what I assume you shall assume, For every atom belonging to me, as good belongs to you." -Walt Whitman

Thanks for posting those. They were interesting to read. =) I'm afraid I don't have any "daemony" quotes of my own right now, but hopefully others will post more.
FYI, I already have a rough draft for your daemon analysis. But I'm still doing research.

"Hope" is the thing with feathers-- That perches in the soul-- And sings the tune without the words-- And never stops--at all--
And sweetest--in the Gale--is heard-- And sore must be the storm-- That could abash the little Bird That kept so many warm--
I've heard it in the chillest land-- And on the strangest Sea-- Yet, never, in Extremity, It asked a crumb--of Me. --Emily Dickinson
I especially love this poem, with a bird dæmon and all. By my favorite poetess, nonetheless. ^^
("Dæmonic", perhaps?)

"its the marriage bewteen heaven and hell. Its death in life and life in death. Its a kindof enthusiasm that guides us towards the search for knowledge, without believing in any superior entity. Its an olistic approach to life that struggles against any form of vanity, of stupid power and false authprity. Its a form of magic, of ecstatic feeling, its the art of living for freedom without having to submit our inner thoughts to the banalities of our society. Its a dream that gives hope to our intellect, its a mystery without a solution, its the absurdity of our life, its a nonsensical joke." - some guy i dunno

Got some more quotes.....here goes: (This quote describes a kind of mix between the Daemon and the Death) "For after death, as they say the daemon of each individual, to whom he belonged in life, leads him to a certain place in which the dead are gathered together, whence after judgement has been given they pass into the world below, following the guide, who is appointed to conduct them from this world to the other: and when they have recieved their due and remained their time, another guide brings them back again after many revolutions of ages." (Phaedo 107AD) and..... "Zeus has placed by every man a guardian, every man a daemon, to whom he has committed the care of the man; a guardian who never sleeps, is never decieved." (Epictetus) Hope you found those interesting!

Enya said "Dreams are life's flowers." I just changed the first word, so it's 25% original!

A new Emily dæmon poem. Don't roll your eyes--I like this poet. This relates to how dæmons rarely feel affection for anyone, and when they do, only for a select few. Not even if they're Emperors.... *smirk* ~~~ The Soul selects her own Society -- Then -- shuts the Door -- To her divine Majority -- Present no more --
Unmoved -- she notes the Chariots -- pausing -- At her low Gate -- Unmoved -- an Emperor be kneeling Upon her Mat --
I've known her -- from an ample nation -- Choose One -- Then -- close the Valves of her attention -- Like Stone -- ~~~ A footnote: Emily, rumoured to be a lesbian, always refers to her soul as "she". Odd.
