The best thing about our school is our lunch. We get fries that taste like Mcdonalds, or curly fries, we can choose between making our own sandwhich, pizza (nasty, though), or hamburger/chicken patty/grilledcheese, and occasionally there's a bagel and cream cheese left. No healthy food for OUR school, you can count on that! (Actually, I'm surprised I'm not 300 pounds by now ;D)

British and Amerian schools are waaay different. One girl who moved (transferred) from California say our school is like Hogwarts in HP O.O I never noticed how straight-laced our school is until then. We have a fast food line where you can get pizza, which is always burnt and gross, chips which are absolutely disgusting and...well that's about it. The the sandwich queue where you can pick up baguettes, sandwiches crisps and chocolate and that's about it. Apart from the vending machines which eat your change. But I think daemon fights would be prohibited, just as fighting is now. Soul or no, it is a dispute and things like that aren't tolerated.

All my schools only got crappy food from the cheapo places like sisco. Trust me when you eat a burger thats a meat substitute, fries that taste like they were under a couch for three days, and milk that comes in a plastic bag; you'll realise my disgust is valid. gross...

And there'd probably be no more faking sickies, seeing as the school nurse's daemon would know from the state of your daemon. Not really. Stuff like colds and flus wouldnt affect your daemon. Actually to be honest, I dont think anything would change much at all. I agree with most everything Hannah said too

no, i feel like this thread is muddying up the conceot of daemons, as in its all getting squished together and blurry, just because two people have wold daemons does not mean they will both enjoy chocolate ice cream and long walks at sunset, carpentry or Anne Rice novels. There couldnt possibly be a cannines only college, it just doesnt work that way.

I'm pretty sure they ment personality wise. Two subserviant people don't have to like certain things, but they're still subserviant. (In referance to the dog colledge.)

no, your taking it too literally. If you have a college for dog souls, then itd be because theyd all be taking the same courses right? Is that not what was meant? They are all dog people so theyll be doing the same thing in college, so why not make a college just for them? The ice cream point was just because they have dog souls does not mean they will enjoy all the same things or want the same jobs

Wow. I should have read this thread earlier. And actually followed it.
Anywho, I agree with you, people taking the same courses would have the same sorts of daemons. Well, ok, not everyone would be a wolf or whatever, but I reckon they'd all be pretty similar, or there's be like a few groups of different forms. Like because people take courses for different reasons.
Hmm....saying that...I think there would still be a pretty good mix in daemon forms in uni's and stuff, but they'd just be centred around one main ..um..idea..
Not really very clear there, were you?
Well, I know what I mean, and that's all that matters.
EDIT: I can so totally not spell. I think I was on something last night o.O

My school does really, really great meals. To start, you can have a bowl of soup with a bread roll. Next, there's a choice of four hot meals, all with chips and sometimes gravy, or jacket potato, or pasta, or any one of eleven different baguettes. Then you can have a hot dessert, or a cold dessert, or a piece of fruit. And with that, you can get as many orange squash refills as you want. All of the food is really nice too.
Yes, but they're really expensive, too, even if they do just go on the bill at the end of the year.
Look, are we paying for it?
No. That's the parents' job.
Then it's absolutely perfect.

Yeah but not just that, things like in one course it's mainly bird daemoned people, but there are a couple of, say, butterflies or something. That's a really bad example, but it'll have to do.

About all dog colleges, I don't think it would happen. College is supposed to prepare you for the diversity of the real world, not make you think that everyone'll be the same.
Oh, and lunch at the school I'm going to next year is included in the tuition, so it doesn't matter how much I eat. ;D

One thig I hate over here, apart from food, is the fact that I'll still use British slang half the time--notably rubbish is absent, but hey-- and I get ribbed for it. A lot.
Then, across the pond, as it were, I get laughed at for, and I'm not making this up, "talking Yank." My cousins are soooooooooooooo stupid it hurts, -_-

I disagree with the thing about people with similar daemons taking similar courses in college. Your daemon represents who you are, but they don't represent your job preference or what classes you're especially good at, I shouldn't think. People can have very similar personalities, but also very different tastes or knacks for something in school. Because there are still so many other factors weighing on who you are, it'd be impossible to see a bunch of people with the same daemon taking similar courses in college. I think it'd be more coincidence than anything, because these are all going to be very different people, even if they have similar course schedules. One person can be majoring in English wanting to be a teacher. Another majoring in English could love rock climbing and classical music, while another is an angry introvert barely able to make it in life. Another could be bubbly, enthusiastic, and quite playful. People are too diverse, and motivated by different plans and ideas and hopes and dreams. Farder Coram was, in his youth, an adventurer and very brave. There was another lady in Golden Compass/Northern Lights who was just a merchant. And Will was a dark introvert, but every one of them had cat daemons. That's my thoughts on it.
