I'm a little sceptical 'bout this one myself. But Ra -glares- urged me to post this, so here goes.
My mum's house is haunted, and my dad's house is haunted, and I'm certain of that. While I was telling my dad and stepmother, Dawn, another tale of eerie goings-on in the house, Dawn asked if Pocket was more receptive to ghosts because he is my soul. The idea was laughable, to me, but Pocket seemed to have nothing to say on the subject.
When I told Ra about this, all she said was, "Maybe he is." That made me think. I realized that there were times, numerous times, when Pocket would suddenly fall silent and stiffen, fur bristling, to stare at something I couldn't see. Sometimes his eyes moved with this invisible thing. When I would say, "Pocket? What are you doing?" he'd snap out of it, shake his head and say "Nothing." I told Ra that, too, and she told me Rome's done that before. I thought Pocket was the only one. Now, I've never seen ghosts in my house. But is it really possible that Pocket can? I'm not sure anymore ...

Daemons are our souls, and souls are spiritual things. I think that they can sense them on a different plane.....Tyb wants to explain, I'll let him have a go at the keyboard,
Tyb: I can sense some spiritual beings sometimes. I can't exactly see them, but I know when theyr'e there, and they give Ali that feeling of someone being around when there's no one there. Like how sometimes cats and dogs just suddenly go rigid and watch something invisible walk through a house where an old pet was lost......its kind of like that. The animals, like myself, can't physically SEE them, but they/we know theyr'e there. The spirits usually aren't violent or anything, or else I'd warn Ali, but yes, in a way, I am more receptive (and I'm sure Pocket is too) to those spirit sort of things.
Ali: Alright, this is all new to me, so I'm glad you heard Tyb for yourself *thwacks Tib on the head for not telling her these things*
Tyb: *head thumping* Hope that helped.
EDIT: This is Ali just running over Tyb's bad spelling. Didn't change anything.

That makes a lot of sense. Once, when I was taking care of an old beagle called Duchess for someone, I found Duchess standing in my front hallway and staring at the wall. I did the "test" - moved my hand over her eyes - and sure enough, she ducked her head to keep staring. A little creeped out, I got up to walk away, and found that Pocket was staring at the same, presumably empty, space.
For all we know, there could be another world, where our dæmons are physical, and a ghost really is standing there. But it's too complicated for my liking ...

I've had a similar experience, although my dæmon didn't SEE anything.... He only sensed it.
I think it's mentioned on my webpage that Rookie once freaked out while I was at a friend's house. He was in his black rabbit form, eyes opened wide.... shivering like a maniac. He couldn't tell me exactly what was the matter, but he felt that something was terribly wrong... He felt something that scared the crud out of him, but he didn't believe that it was "in our world." I'd hate to use the word 'evil,' but that's what the force reminded him of. Darkness and evil. My dæmon was scared to death and couldn't stop shaking. He continued muttering incoherently about it for a few minutes.

I think that's what Pocket is doing - sensing something. It seems too weird that's he's seeing something I can't.

I think that all makes a lot of sense actualy. While Kay has never done anything like that before, Platon (dunno how you guys would spell his name) a greek philosopher said that he beleived the world to be divided in two: the material world and the spiritual world.
Now i won't go too deep in philosophy but just to say his spirits were not what you think of. FOr him the world of spirits was where the true image of everything resided: The true horse, the true human...ect... This world would just be the pale reflection of the spirits. He thinks our souls would return to that place, to wait until it can be re-incarnated into a material form.
Since daemons are our souls and belong to the spirit world, it would make sense that they would see things from the spirit world. While we can't see them (since we are from the material world) they can.
(random: the thread title made me laugh)

Hm... I recall Rano staring at something, even though I couldnt' see anything. I am good at sensing things like this, but not as good as Rano. My house is haunted too. I swear. my old room has a ghost or something in it. I saw it once. Anywho, randomly Rano will scream at something. Just.. scream, then stare at something that isn't there. It's not a 'oh my gosh it's gonna get me' kinda scream, but a 'go away' kinda scream. It's creepy. I dunno what to make of it because when I ask him, he just shakes his head and remains silent. It might have something to do with spirits... It does make sense that our souls would be more 'in tune' to these kind of things. It does to me because I've always, sortof, known it. *thinks about something for a moment, trying to decide weather to put it here or in another thread* Hm... It seems like it could go here. Alright, my daemon is kinda psychic. During storms, sometimes he'll make a comment that goes along the lines of 'i wonder when the lights are going to go out'. Every single time he says it, the power cuts off within 10 minutes. Lately he's been getting really riled about how the storms come from the south instead of the north. Almost every single storm ('cept tropical ones), before this summer, came from the north or the west. Now they are coming from the south and east. He doesn't like it at all. Every time it does that, he mutters about how something's wrong, it's not supposed to work that way. I feel the same way. It's creepy how nature would just change so quickly. Well, his little comments about the weather are always right. Always. If he's being serious that is. Sometimes he'll joke around about it, but not often. Just now he said that it was going to storm a little today. Hm... I wonder which direction it's coming from this time. Rano: 'south.' real wonderful. Just thought I would mention that. It seemed like it fit in here well enough. Then again, I'm a pretty bad judge of these things.

I very much agree with Aleandra. I've always believed that theory of Plato's--it ties in very well with this thread also. If it's happened to all of these people, it can't be coincidence. *muses*

Alright, my daemon is kinda psychic. During storms, sometimes he'll make a comment that goes along the lines of 'i wonder when the lights are going to go out'. Every single time he says it, the power cuts off within 10 minutes. I didn't think of it until you posted that, Hannah. Pocket is also ... alright, psychic, if you will. He predicts strange things and is nearly always right. Once, I was playing a GameCube game with my sister and stepsiblings. Mario Party 5. In one mini-game, you have to hide in one of three cauldrons ... to avoid being eaten by Bowser. Yeah. Anyway, there's Cauldrons A, B, and X. Bowser toasts two of them. I decided to ask Pocket which cauldron to hide in. He replied, "X," without hesitation. I chose X. I won the game. We played again. "A this time," Pocket said. I chose A. I won the game. We played no less than six times more. i asked Pocket every single time, and I won every game.In the Canada election, I asked Pocket who he thought would win. "Liberals," he said. I thought a different party would. Liberals won. Pocket was right. In a reality TV show, some woman had to beat a guy in a game of Jenga. ( Yep - the Benefactor. ) "I think the guy'll win," I said to Pocket. "The woman will," said Pocket with a shrug. The woman won! And those are only the examples I can think of. Pocket's right about everything - no exaggeration. I think the only time he was wrong was when we played that Mario Party 5 game again. "Well?" I said. Pocket got nervous. "What if I'm wrong?" he asked. "No problem. We'll just try again." "A, then," said Pocket after some hesitation. He was right, but for some reason, he got even more nervous. Next, he said Cauldron X, but he was wrong. I stopped asking him. He relaxed. And after a while, he told me to choose B, so I did, and I won. I'm glad someone else has a "psychic" daemon. Pocket really is quite an oddball, though.

Wow! I'm glad I'm not the only one as well. I wonder if this ties in with the time thing. Ya know with the clocks and the looking and the knowing...*shrug*

Cat, Kay does that too, i asked him once which no de dice would give me, and he was right. Don't use your power for evil! Use them for good! And cheating casinos out of their money! ... that doesn't contradict itself. I think the reason that daemon are able to do that is because they are our intuition in a way...

I'm pretty sure that my house is haunted. It's the spookiest place that most of my friends have ever been to. It's six storeys high, the lighting is scary, and there are hidden passageways.

Ahem, might I remind you ice, those passage-ways are filled with boxes and the only person I know who is scared pf your house is [name here] who needed a pee and didn't know where the light-switch was so he cried, and that was in the third grade!

There was another incident like the time thing that I never brought up here, because it was a little creepy to me. But it fits in here, so I suppose I'll tell you later; I have no time right now.
