Hmm.. I'm rather apprehensive about posting poetry, because oftentimes what the author thinks is deeply meaningful and beautiful, others think is just crap. *shifty eyes* But, I'm taking the leap and posting this poem I wrote about Kelan for English class last year. I hope you like it... Come, daimen, precious shadow.
Leone ethereal, metaphysical corbeau. No avian dream, nor haphazard falling star:
My caustic canis lupus.
Pelt of storms, silver-tongued. Vedeno kohaku, luminous at dusk.
We gaze towards Polaris together; mutual adoration,
daemon. As you may've noticed, I threw in a bunch of words that aren't in english. I tend to do that in my normal speech as well. ^^; This includes the weird spelling of daemon, "daimen." It's an old word that means rare- there was a post in the your_daemons community about it, which can be trouvayed at www.livejournal.com/community/your_daemons/24877.html Here's a quick translation of everything else- Leone = lion (italian) - Corbeau = crow (french) - Vedeno = to see (italian) - Kohaku= amber (japanese)

Excuse my complete ignorance, but...
There once was a dæmon called Lass, Whose sometimes a pain in the, er, back. "What's the deal?!" asks shei, "What do you mean?" replied me, "I'm saying it's a loss of manners that you lack!"
Heh, heh, heh. ::sly grin::

Don't listen to ice! He doesn't know what he's talking about!
There once was a guy named ice, Whose lame limericks will never suffice. His poems are mean, And better unseen, And basically not nice!
Thank you, thank you...

This is actually kinda like a song, but I don't have the music.... It sisn't happen to me, I just felt like writing it......
There are no Good Byes There are no goodbyes So just go and fly I don't care anymore Don't arrive at my door 'Cause I won't be there Don't you dare touch my hair ever, ever, ever again. You took my heart So don't you start Because when you look back, There'll be something you lack So just leave me, just leave me here I en't comin' back there You lied to me I did not see the pain that would come And yet all you do is run. Life isn't a soap No, I don't loathe I just want to say that just because you don't have to pay doesn't mean that I'll stay So that you can come play with me like I'm a doll. You took my heart So don't you dare start 'Cause I know that there won't be any Good Byes.
I'd like to thank all the little people!

A Haiku piece.
Elafros, dæmon Truth piercing the darkness, so shining golden bright
Haiku is hard. And that wasn't any good. Maybe give me some time, and I'll write something good.

OO! That's good. I like it. Haikus are hard. I wish I could write poetry. Sometimes I write something when I feel really inspired, but it usually does'nt relate to daemons, and I don't think they are very good anyway.... Ok, that didn't have a point....

yeah, haiku is pretty hard- it's not that difficult to get the right amount of syllables, but you find that by the time the syllables are all correct, it doesn't have the same meaning anymore. the feeling of what you meant to write has changed by fitting it into the box.
incidentally, did you know that haiku is traditionally used to describe nature? it's written in the present tense, and you're not supposed to go back and edit it afterwards. it's spur-of-the-moment.
