Katherine Stepped off teh man as the police hauled him away for the moment. She nodded to teh boy with the sword, and held her dæmon close as he flew back to her. She looked at teh other with the dragon dæmon, and Aluben flew over to the other dragon.
He sniffed her a bit, and flew up into teh air, looking around for another threat. Katherine walked over to the boy and smiledsaying 'Hi. It's unusual tosee another with a dragon dæmon.' she bobbed her head to teh dæmon, and Aluben came down to perch on hisgirl's shoulder

"J, look over there." Captiosus said. "What?" "Dragon daemons. Don't see those every day." Captiosus carefully move closer to the two dragon-demians, but still keeping quite a distance and remaining unnoticed. "Capt, don't be so nosy." Jenna whispered. "They're just dragon daemons. Yeah, they're rare but...they're not that interesting. Don't spy." "I'm not spying, I'm just admiring the beauty from afar. Really, I just wanted to get a look. C'mon, let's walk around a bit. And watch out for that hand!" "Huh? What?" Jenna said. It was hard for a daemon to fool his own human, and the reaction was not satisfactory when the human was rather boring, unemotional and not even fully paying attention. "Ah, forget it." Capt said. "You're so boring it's a wonder I change so much."

Thom filled with excitement and apprehension as the girl with the blue dragon daemon walked over.
'Hi. It's unusual tosee another with a dragon dæmon.'
The girl nodded tward Salix, who blinked then tilted her head tward this new, interesting person.
'Yes, that's what wei were just thinking' Thom replied. 'I'm Thom. What is your name?' Now more interested in how the conversation would go than the corpse.
Salix was now eyeing the blue, miniature version of herself, who was seated on his human's shoulder. She'd never seen another dragon daemon before, and her curiosity was getting the better of her.

'Name's Katherine... This is Aluben' She stroked the dragon's head, and it shook and flew up into the air, gently hitting her with a wing. She shook her head, smiling.
'She's pretty' Katherine remarked about Salix's markings, as she glanced into the air, watching Aluben go a bit too high for her liking, but she didn't feel the normal pull.

Jenna followed behind Capt. "What do you think I'll be when I settle?" Captiosus said. "I don't know." "What do you want me to be when I settle?" "I don't know." "I probably won't be anything special like a dragon." "I know. I don't care." "You don't do a lot of things." Capt said. "Do you want to be a dragon?" Jenna said. "No. Why?" "You're taking quite an interest in those two down--" Jenna slipped and fell, landing closer to the dragon-demians. "Er. Sorry. About that." She said, getting up quickly.

Tobias watched the youths converse in near shock while absentmindedly rubbing his arm (which had been a casualty in the second collision this evening).
'Vulpes, A MURDER just took place! Heck, they've been exposed to a fresh CORPSE! Someone's dæmon became a LION and pinned down the killer who nearly ESCAPRED! And these children are so easily distracted from that fact by two pretty little dragon dæmons?!'
'I fear for this generation..' Vulpes told him with a sympathetic expression. Still, Tobias wasn't positive whether she meant it jokingly or not. Tch. He wouldn't have. Personally, Tobias was still rather shaken up from the episode. Viewing a lifeless body, with no dæmon in sight, was something he'd certainly never forget. Yet everyone else failed to remember their angry and shocked sentiments within moments.
Crossing his arms in a huff, Tobias raised an eyebrow at his friend, Thom, who had coincidentally appeared not long ago.
Rather than expressing what he was truly feeling at the time, the boy covered it up with a cynical "Pretty or not, Thom, Vulpes could teach that widdle dragon a lesson any day, and yew know it. Vulpes 'as got the heart of a wild, ferocious beast!" He pointed a finger down at the black fox with a silly grin, who just sighed in embarrassment.

'Name's Katherine... This is Aluben'
'She's pretty'
'Thank you' Thom replied with a smile. 'He is too' looking at Aluben.
"Er. Sorry. About that."
'Oh!' Thom exclaimed, looking down. 'I didn't see you' He looked her over to make sure she hadn't been injured in her fall. 'You might want to be a bit more careful.' He said semi-jokingly. A smile played across his lips once more.
'Hello, I'm Thom, and this is Salix' He said to the girl, though he glanced at Katherine as he said the name, so that she would know that he was talking to both girls.
Salix blinked, and lowered her eyelids a bit. It was a thing she did when she sensed her human becoming slightly overwhelmed. Thom liked to keep away from people for the most part. The murder, seeing and meeting another dragon daemon and his human, along with the girl who had slipped. He was a bit crowded, but he was too curious to let that bother him. He wanted to get to know these people.
Thom noticed Tobias looking in his direction. He raised an eyebrow. Which was returned by another raised eyebrow.
"Pretty or not, Thom, Vulpes could teach that widdle dragon a lesson any day, and yew know it. Vulpes 'as got the heart of a wild, ferocious beast!"
Thom smirked, and Salix cocked her head tward the small fox. 'Just 'cause she's got the heart doesn't mean she's got the muscle.' Thom said, teasingly. Salix gave Vulpes a look that clearly said, ' Our humans are so weird!' Then shook her head in a defeated sort of way.

Fossil managed to recover, staggering by the two menfolk and groping for her daemon. "Gavidian!" she gasped, going down on her bum on the cold ground. "I'm here!" he whispered urgently, right next to her ear. "There's a dead man!" Startled, the girl turned, brushing back a glob of white hair and spotting a glimpse of legs as they were covered in a sheet and toting off. "Gavi!" she gasped, a hand to her mouth. "I SAW IT!" Her squirrel daemon scuttled to hide in her hood at the sudden outcry, loud enough to cause some gaping citizens to glance down at the filthy female. She leaped to her feet, hands trembling violently. "I SAW IT, Gavi! AT THE DUMPSTER! A man...a man would lie dead, and here I am, a poor maiden, collided with two handsome rogueish RUFFIANS! I SAW IT! DEATH HAS COME TO US!" She wailed and threw her arms wide, making some sort of sound halfway between a screech and a sob. "I SAW IT ALL!" Her daemon muttered something about bad milk, huddling and hiding his face with his tail as some individuals edged away from the apparant lunatic. "THE POOR DEAD MAN! Now who shall collect milk bottles...?" As if she knows he was the milkman. No clue!

(( Whoo, am I late. ))
Tobias's collision with Julian had sent him sprawling into an ankle-deep puddle. Cursing, he picked himself up and surveyed the boy, roughly his age, in cool scrutiny. Shameira, who'd leapt from the cover of Julian's jacket the moment she anticipated the collision, hissed angrily at Vulpes.
"Watch where you're going, jackass," spat Julian once he'd collected his senses. "No, I'm not being bloody shot at."
Too late did Shay spot Fossil. A second time, Julian was knocked to the ground, this time totally winded and gasping to catch his breath. He staggered upright, leaning against the wall for support. "Would you - people - stop running into me? Bloody hell, what's going on out there anyway?"

"Not so much as distracted," Said Capt. "As we were getting away from all the action, anyway." "...Capt? What are you--" Jenna said. It was rare for a daemon to talk to other humans, but Capt was an exception--also exceptionally odd was the fact that Jenna talked to humans less than Capt did. "...and things fail to excite me. Yeah, the murder was a lot of excitement but," Capt shrugged. "A lot of people bother me, so I went away. Oh, I was the lion, by the way." Capt said, swishing his tail. "I was cool, wasn't I? Just about broke his leg." Jenna buried her face in her hand. "What?" Capt said. "Why do you embarass me? The kid probably thinks I'm a complete--complete--" "Idiot? Annoyance? Fool?" Captiosus said. "A mix of those, yeah." "Well, he was talking about us...I thought I'd join in."

Adrienne had changed into another set of clothes and was still home when her mother called to check up on her.
“Yes Mom, I’m fine. No, I’m not having any problems.... uh huh.... yup... ‘kay... love you, too, mom.... bye!”
Adi hung up and sighed with relief, “Whew, that was SO close...”
“Now wei can go back outside, right?” Hael was a fox now and was staring out of the window longly.
“What? You.. you like it out there?”
“Of course. It’s much more interesting than this dump...”
“Well, yeah... Ok, fine. Let’s go.”
“Good. And now that you’re not so disturbing to look at, maybe we can get some people to enlighten us on the current circumstances of the poor boy’s death.”
“Hael, I’m not interested in that! I... I just wanna go walk around or something. Ya know, maybe read a bit. After all the rain is starting to clear up. Hey! Maybe we can-”
A knock at the door abruptly cut her off. Shei froze with fear, thinking that it was the police who had come to get her and whispered, “Hael, go see who it is...” Her dæmon changed into a little bird and flew to the peephole.
“No one’s there. But there is a little package in front of the door.”
Adi pulled the door open and picked up the small package. “Hmm, that’s funny. It doesn’t have a name or address on it.”
“Open it!”
She tore the brown packaging off and gasped in wonder. Inside was a funny looking compass made of gold. A note that was still damp was attached with smeared handwriting was attached. It took Adi a while, but eventually she figured out that it said: “Whoever you are, please keep this safe. You must not let anyone know that you have it. One day, I’ll come back for it.” The signature of this mystery person was illegible and smeared, as if it had been sitting in the rain for while.
“What am I supposed to do with it, Hael.”
“Do what the note says; keep it safe.”
“Look at the hands on this compass. They won’t stop moving... And the pictures on it! Wow, this thing is pretty neat!”
“I don’t know why... but I don’t think this is a compass. I feel that it’s special somehow: like that there are some tragic memories attached to this instrument, whatever it is. And another thing...,” Hael flew over to the window sill and looked out at the Botanical Gardens. “That bench out there... it radiates the same aura as this device. I say that we check the bench out.”
“Good plan, Hael,” Adi replied as she placed the not-compass into the safest place that she knew of: her backpack and headed out the door.
Once outside, they ventured to the Gardens and inspected the bench. Haelphaesus was right: there was something strange, intriguing, and forlorn about it. Upon closer inspection, they realized that underneath it was a carving of two lovers intials, a carving of the directions on a compass, a dried bouquet of roses with small ropes tying it together, and fragments of a knife. They pulled the knife fragments out from underneath it and inspected them closer.
“I feel the aura, it’s so strong...,” whispered Adrienne. She reached into her pack and pulled out the golden not-compass. “Hael! They’re-they’re glowing...”
The fragments of knife and the golden instrument glowed with an ethereal light that seemed to break through the clouds. The not-compass burned in her hand as its light pulsated so brightly and fiercely that she was forced to let go. The shards of the knife shivered, then pulled back together like small magnets. A cold northern wind rushed through the gardens, blowing the roses’ petals into the air and into a swirling vortex of long lost love. Adi shielded her eyes and stood up as the dried burgundy petals swarmed together into a miniature tornado and condensed so that it appeared to be a solid funnel of burgundy. Suddenly, the wind ceased to blow and the petals peeled off the funnel and floated gently away. The falling petals revealed the ghostly forms of two lovers embracing. But just as suddenly as they had appeared, the lovers once again evaporated into the sky.

Thom looked from daemon to human. He covered his mouth with a hand, a mouth which sported a wide grin. The hand was failing miserably at it's task. A giggle escaped him, which was quickly stiffled, though it appeared he was trying to eat his fist.
Salix's tail snaked around and the tip poked its owner's human in the back.
Thom removed his hand from his mouth, and rubbed his ribs. He'd tried so hard not to laugh at the silly arguement between the two, that he felt as though he'd cracked a few ribs. He stood up straight and hoped nobody noticed the small show he had just put on.

"AGH! Hael! Why do creepy weird things seem to follow me around!!"
"It's because you attract them."
"Well, let's un-attract them! I hate this!!" Adrienne sat down on the ground and slumped dejectedly. She reached into her pack and took out the golden instrument. "I-I don't want this... I think it might cause me more trouble than it's worth..."
No, keep it... It's important somehow, I just know it. Ash's words rang true in her heart. She knew she must keep it safe, no matter what. Clasping it with both hands, she stared into it's golden radience.
Hmm..., she thought to herself. This thing, it's so beautiful, but this feeling... The sadness is so great... if only.... And Adrienne lost herself in the captivating glow of the golden compass.

Keene and his daemon had left the scene early. Too many people--and the sight of a body did not sound very appealing at the moment. Kei had convinced him to return to the Bench to invesitage the carvings more, and Keene had followed the advice. He already had the answers to write his paper--now he just felt the need to escape from the excitement and bustle of whatever was happening at the scene. No one would miss him anyways.... After rounding four corners and turning down two dead ends, Keene and his daemon arrived at the Bench to find it was not alone. A girl seemed shooken up by the Bench, as if some momentous occasion had just occured. Keene blushed a bit, staring a little bit at the girl for a moment before waving to agknowledge her presence before he approached the Bench while the girl stood behind him. He bent down to his knees while Kei slinked underneath the bench to get a better look at the carvings before stopping in her place. "What is that...." she said, pointing towards a knife on the ground. Keene stared at it for a few seconds, transfixed, before looking at the girl. "Is this yours? Who does it belong to?" he asked in a slightly concerned and forceful tone. He needed to know the anser, he felt the knife was important, irreplaceable, and required for something.... (OOC: Tracy--gorgeous signature )
