Fossil stopped enough in her teary ravings to notice just how hard she'd hit Julian. She rushed to his side, hands clutched tightly and drawn to her chest. "Oh, I'm sorry...I'm so sorry, I hit you, didn't I? There's been a murder, it's dreadful and horrid, isn't it? Who'll deliver the milk?" Tears, big fat ones, welled up in her eyes, her shoulders trembling with the effort not to cry. "Just...there was gunfire, and this dead man, the milk man, isn't it terrible? He died.." She looked about fit to burst (into tears), her little squirrely daemon poking a curious nose around her neck for just a moment to eye the sour boy before vanishing again. "Please, I'm sorry I ran into you, really, I.." Would the confusion never end? (OOC (out of character): -_- st00pid Foss.)

Lindy turned her head and saw two teenage boys arguing about something. "Let's just go back to the garden. There's nothing else really left to see here...' Beauet suggested, still pearched on Lindy's shoulder as a sparrow. She nodded in agreement. There was still far too many people floating around the crime scene for her liking.
Once they had arrived back at the garden. It was practically empty besides a few people walking through to get back to their homes and out of the rain. Lindy looked up at the grey, dull sky, hoping to see where the sun was but, it was obscured by the rain and clouds. She sighed, her mother wouldn't mind if she stayed out a while longer.
While she was thinking all of this over, she walked onto the slick grass, and fell onto her back. Beauet(That was now a caracal again) tried not to laugh at his daemian's accident."Are you all right?" he said with a gleam of laughter in his eye.
Lindy glared at her daemon"What do you think? I'm wet and cold now..."

"So, what do we do now?" Captiosus said. "There's been a murder and we're still having trouble finding things to do? That guy had a point." "Well, I can't help it. I have the attention span," Capt said, pausing a moment to change in a flying insect. "Of a fly." "Very funny." "Really, though," Capt said, turning back into his common American eskimo form. "What's next on the agenda of nonstop action?" "I dunno. Wander around aimlessly?" Jenna suggested. "Really? That's very out of character of you. I thought you were going to suggest bungee jumping or something." "Oh, looks like we're both having an out of character day--sarcasm. Who'd've expected it from you?" They walked around, towards the bench where two people currently were. "That's the bench where the initials were carved." Capt said. They stood, looking from a distance as they often did, and then Capt ran towards the people. "Capt--wait!" Jenna curses. "Hi, mind if I join the party?" Capt said to the two people near the bench. Jenna grabbed Capt by the scruff of his neck. "What are you DOING?! This is some stupid ploy to get me to make--UGH! Capt, honestly! I hate you! Come on, just STOP! It's RUDE, first of all."

Julian blinked, looking at Fossil. Unexpected outburst from the nutcase. "Yeah. You hit me. You both hit me. Thanks a lot. And as fun as this is, I have no desire to stick around, so ..."
He turned away from her and shouldered roughly past Tobias. He had no feelings for either teen who'd so abruptly smacked into him. Except anger. And a little pain too. He pushed a wet strand of hair out of his eyes and suddenly noticed a glimmer of light through the haze. Intrigued, he walked toward it, Shay shivering at his side.
"What are you doing?" she hissed aloud.
"I'm allowed to be curious too," he murmured. As the rain slackened a little he could see a girl standing by a bench. 'What is she holding?' he wondered to Shay. She had no reply. Julian moved closer, trying to stay out of sight of the girl. He put his hands, almost numb with the cold, in his jacket pockets and studied the girl intently.
She was holding a compass. Just a compass - how disappointing. Julian raised an eyebrow sardonically. Why would 'just a compass' glow that way? Now, he could see it was gold, too. Interesting ...
"What are you thinking?" asked Shay, looking uncertainly up at him.
"Well," he said carefully, "I'm thinking I wanna keep my eye on that pretty toy."
He needed money. The golden compass had to be worth something. And he'd pickpocketed before. It disgusted Shay, but Julian could live with that. Pensive now, he continued to watch the girl.

Foss's jaw dropped, anger welling up in place of her pained loss for a treasured milkman. For now all those empty bottles would just sit there, and never be replaced. She couldn't steal milk anymore. And he was so RUDE! Her lips curled back, hands curling into fists as the heat of humiliation burned in her cheeks. "Didja see that?" she hissed over her shoulder, in Gavidian's general direction. "He snubbed me! That arrogant, spoiled little brat! He didn't even MOURN the milk man! C'mon, we're teaching that little uptown jerk a lesson!" She, too, departed, having no more fascination for the exasperated police, the weird little youngsters, and the messy-haired boy who had helped her knock Julian to the ground. As stealthy and swift as her little daemon, she followed the boy, hanging back and letting Gavi follow. She followed them all the way to the garden, to a vantage point behind a tree. Her eyes glittered with anger as she stepped free, her daemon somewhere in the tree above, but always nearby. "Hey! You could have shown a little more respect back there, townie! I don't think I liked your attitude much. Didn't your mother ever teach you to treat a lady with respect?" She spat out each syllable, voice dripping with self-righteous rage. "Or were you too busy smoking with some big, bad preppie friends? Think you're better than other people, huh?" Moodswing. d

Julian flinched a little when her harsh words hit him, but he didn't turn around. In a calm, level voice, he replied, "My mother is dead."
Shay turned to stare at the girl, eyes narrowed to slits.

Her eyes twitched a little, her fists clenched a bit tighter, but she remained relatively unphased. "Right then. So. Didn't your daemon ever teach you respect?" Her own dropped suddenly from a tree branch above, sharp claws digging into the thin fabric of her grey jacket. "That was uncalled for, Ranya," he hissed in her ear, eyeing the cat daemon and flicking his tail warningly at her. "You should apologize to him." "Not until he apologizes to ME!" she snapped out louder, turning her attentive to her own daemon for a moment. "He was a total jerk! He can't treat me like that, look at him!" She gestured forcefully at his back, as if this proved entirely her point. Gavidian wouldn't meet her gaze...he instead locked eyes with Shey, remaining stubbornly silent.

Lindy got up from the ground and wiped the soggy glass blades clinging to her jacket off onto the ground.Didn't your mother ever teach you to treat a lady with respect?"Or were you too busy smoking with some big, bad preppie friends? Think you're better than other people, huh?".
Lindy turned her head when she heared the girl insulting a boy for some reason."What do you think they are fighting about, Beauet?"Lindy said, not looking down at her daemon.
Beauet's ears swivled, trying to pick up the conversation."I'm not really sure, Lindy." Beauet looked around"....Lindy?" Where did she go? He saw her stooping behind a bush, a little ways away from where she was originally standing. Why are evsedropping on the conversation? He asked Lindy, sitting down next to her.
Lindy put a finger to her lip's, singaling her daemon to be quite. She was glad the bush was large. She could still see and hear them, she just hoped they couldn't see her.

Jerk. She called him a jerk. Julian smirked. Jerk was what he got more than anything. Sometimes sociopath, sometimes jackass, mostly jerk. He turned around and looked Fossil up and down. A squirrel dæmon. How very intimidating.
"Didn't your daemon ever teach you respect?"
The words played around his mind. "Well," he said off-handedly, "she tried. I ain't going to apologize to you, so don't bother forcin' an apology from me," he added in a lazy drawl. His voice was devoid of British accent; Julian had been born and raised in Timmins, Ontario, a small city in Canada. "Girl, you hit me first. Tell who's lacking the manners now."
Shay hissed a warning at the little squirrel dæmon. She had no idea if he was settled or not, but she was fully prepared to fight him for Julian's sake.

Jenna was busy apologizing for Captiosus's intrusion. Captiosus was able to slip away, walking towards the two arguing people. What are you-- Jenna said. Eavesdropping. And Jenna could detect a wicked grin from his voice. Jenna sighed. Come on, you know you like the information I send you. Capt turned into a bird to blend in and listened in on the conversation. "Didn't your mother ever teach you to treat a lady with respect? Or were you too busy smoking with some big, bad preppie friends? Think you're better than other people, huh?" "My mother is dead." Capt flinched and grin, thinking "Ouch." The ultimate slip of words. He took cynical amusement in that slip. Today reminded him of sometime, vaguely, perhaps it had never even happened. (Capt would often make up scenerios in his mind). But someone had commented on Capt and J's flipantness, and asked, "How many deaths would it take to get your attention?" And Capt had grinned wickedly, swishing his tail slowly, and said "Forty-two." Of course, every death was outside his Monkeysphere and he knew for a fact that death was sad, but given the right circumstances and words, it could also be funny. In fact, part of the reason for his dark humor was because of how most people were so serious, how they did not allow one unserious, heartfelt word about death. They were practically daring him to laugh, or not care. So he did. For all he knew, the kid could be lying, and that was most likely. He continue listening.

There was a bit of accent to Fossil, but actually, much of it was cultured. One might have expected worse from a street rat. "Oh yeah? Well, you minging uptown trash, for your information that was an accident! I apologized for it, you're the one went off in a total huff! So what's wrong with you?" Snappy. Whoo.

Julian's only reply this time was a smile that was half a smirk. It was Shay who had reached her breaking point. With an unearthly cat-like cry halfway between a yowl and a hiss she rushed at Fossil, hoping to provoke Gavidian into a fight. Her instinct was to protect her boy from more verbal abuse, though he was taking it all very coolly.

(OOC: *modified to make the better, but the same, relatively*)
When someone looks at a squirrel, generally they're not expecting a very savage creature. It's little, it's cute, it's fuzzy. It's (all in all) not a very scary looking animal. What they fail to recognize are the nasty, needle-like claws, the powerful hind legs, the long, long tail perfect for balance, and those vicious teeth unique to rodentia. But squirrely facts aside! Fossil was startled at the daemon's sudden charge, and even intimidated, jerking back with surprise from the sudden attack. Shay's attempt to stir Gavidian worked, for even as she moved back he raced almost vertical down the line of her body, leaping out from her knee about at the point Shay should be fairly close, lunging out with a powerful spring, claws extended in hopes of meeting flesh first, teeth bared and ready to bite. As her daemon launched himself from her knee, Fossil felt fear choking up in her throat and went for where she knew Shay's major interest to be-- her human, Julian. As she went around the two and for him as fast as a side-step and a lunge could take her, she shook her arm to loose a switchblade from its hiding place up her sleeve, flicking out the blade and drawing back her arm, along her side, -not- up for a downward stab. She's going for closing in with him and stabbing him in the gut, if she has to. As she went for him, she snarled, "CALL HER OFF!", and it's obvious she means Shay. At the rate this was going...would there be more than one body tonight...?

This was way more than Captiosus had expected, and he giggled insanely at the fight.
Capt, what's going on? They're fighting like mad. You should see it, J. Capt twittered and hopped about in excitement, wondering about the two fighters a bit. He had gathered enough from the conversation they had to know why they got into the fight. It was a very action packed day. Capt had more action today than he had in his life
