(OOC: Just popping in with a friendly reminder that posts with lots of description and longness not only sonserve spcae, but make your post more interesting. Not singleling out anyone, just remember in these fight scenes that the more description the better!) Keene heard noises somewhere behind him, probably a small scuffle after all the action earlier, but ignored it. His attention was solely on the girl, who had now, he noticed, a strange golden object tight in her hands. Lekeita was still investigating the knife with a sharp eye--she was almost transfixed. Keene kept his attention on the girl while Lekeita stared at the knife. "Should we take it, Keene?" she asked, feeling very attracted to the weapon that lay before her. She moved towards it slightly, running a paw down the front of the blade, transfixed at its beauty, and inspecting the endless edge of the knife. It had welded marks on it, and way gray, black, indigo, ten thousand colors all swirled and muddled by time and moisture, yet it did not rust. The blade was strong and powerful, yet of no danger while on the ground. Shei felt a need for her human to pick it up....a desire almost..... Keene made a small noise in the back of his throat. He was now aware that he was being stared at by a multitude of people. "Wait a while, Kei.....now please girl, tell me if the knife is yours" he said with utmost intensity in his voice.

Tobias had stood off to the side with a bored expression for most of the verbal attack between the "jerk" and crazy girl - exerting just enough effort to roll his eyes now and then. 'Foolish children...' He thought once or twice about some condescending wise crack that would make it obvious they were both being babies, but decided it was smartest to not get involved. That is.. before the sand cat made a move to potentially harm the girl, releasing a menacing hiss. Tobias hadn't expected such a bold move from either side of the argument. He eyed the scene hesitantly after a quick glance down at Vulpes, but his black fox dæmon's urge to protect was far more powerful than the boy's apprehension, and she acted on that instinct. "Stop it!" she cried, leaping in front of the furious feline. At this same moment the red squirrel had bounded off his human and was making a charge for her. Vulpes turned her head towards the little fuzzy rodent as well. "Don't you dare hurt her!" she warned. And to the sand cat: "What's your problem? Violence isn't going to make that girl apologize!" ((In case it isn't obvious, a lot of my posts are rather hurried so I don't miss the spot I wanted.. and thus the quality of them sux0rz. If I post something and then minutes later add like five extra sentences for the sake of my RPing dignity, don't be surprised. ))

(OOC: Don't worry Okibi--I think a lot of us are hurrying to get the spot too. I've been posting the basics to get it up and then going back to edit in more details. Everything's so rushed its almost impossible to type up a long post without being jumped by someone else :S)

Julian's body tensed up when he saw the switchblade in Fossil's hand. He was unarmed. All he could do was scramble backwards, narrowly avoiding the girl's downward swipe. "What do you think you're doing?" he snarled, searching around desperately for something - anything - that might aid him in this fight.
Shay hissed and spat furiously in very cat-like manner, fury raging in her eyes at Vulpes's interruption. "Stay out of this!" she snapped. "This isn't your fight! And you" --she whirled on Fossil, turning her back on both Vulpes and the squirrel dæmon for an instant-- "touch him and I'll make you pay for it! I swear!"

Captiosus debated whether or not to get involved. He turned into a cat for a fleeting moment, ready to pounce, but decided he'd do more harm than good if he joined into the fray.
Meanwhile, Jenna was talking to the people with the knife. "Wow. That's a cool knife." Jenna said, and said nothing more. She waited for him to respond.

Thom and Salix were drawn away from the girl and her dragon-daemon by sounds of shouting and hissing. Salix made a face, and shouted at the top of her lungs
'Stop you fools! We already have one corpse, we don't need another'
She lunged forward, her powerful wings spreading wide, though only two bounds forward got her to where she was going. With one paw she scooped up the squirrel daemon, and in the other the sand cat daemon, being cautious not to touch the humans, and not to step on Vulpes.
She growled low, scowling at the foolish daemons as she lifted them away from each others' reach.

(OOC: Sorry J, your last post just seems like you magically barged in on what was happening with the compasses and knife.....to my knowledge the fight was going on a bit of a distance away from where Keene and the compass were........wouldn't the two need to do a little bit of walking to get to where the Bench is? Sorry, just wanted to point that out.........consider revising and I'll reply once Tracy puts up a post!

Gavidian just barely managed to alter his leap and avoid the fox daemon and sinking his claws into him, landing sideways and glaring up at the larger with a look of squirrely wrath (YAY!). Every rust and cream hair on his body stood on end, teeth chattering violently, body trembling with contained nerves and rage. Something grabbed him and instinctively he swiped at it, body writhing in the strange daemon's grasp, teeth flashing, trying to get hold of the intruding paw grasping him. (Remember, would have been a sideways gutshot, NOT a downward swipe, I said..downward swipe is for amateurs. :3 ) The furious girl gestured violently back at their two daemons, voice rising in the growing evening at a pitch almost painful to hear. "Control your daemon or--" Something tugged at her heart, something deep and painful, though not quite as filthy as it would have been for a human being to seize her daemon. Attention jerked away, she whirled, breath coming in a sort of panting gasp as she realized what was happening. Tears filled her eyes and the knife hit the ground with a clatter, but taboo held her from actually lunging for her daemon because of the thing holding him. Shay's words didn't even register-- her eyes were fixed on Gavidian, a low, animal moan escaping her to see him writhing and biting, scratching to be released.

Salix continued to glare at the daemons she held in ther grasp, though she saw one human gasp as her daemon was scooped away from her.
'When I put you down, you won't go after each other again. If you do, I'll make you wish you didn't'
Salix set the daemons down, close to thier humans, and stepped back, keeping a wary eye on them.
The whole time Thom watched with interest. His daemon had never really taken interest in the affairs of other daemons' spats before, but she did have a point, someone could be killed, and then they'd have another murder on thier hands. He could see how Salix didn't want either of the kids, both very close to his own age, to dig a hole too deep to get back out of. Things could've gotten very ugly.

Gavidian shot immediately to his human, rocketing up her leg and jacket to her throat, where she immediately hugged him and cuddled him despite the rips left by his claws and the pain of the sudden climb. She staggered away from Julian, jabbing an accusing finger at him. "You control your daemon next time, or I'll stick you, so help me!" There was a dangerous light in her eyes, a promise that she could do it...that, and she'd have no problem with it. She bent to retrieve the knife, holding it and her daemon close. Suddenly there were too many people, too many angry eyes, all against her. "She's the one upped it a level, not mine! All I wanted was a bloody apology, but you nasty uppercrats, you're all the same! All of you! You're too stuck up to admit you're wrong and you're too stuck up to ever try and see anybody on your level 'cos you're too 'igh and mighty! Attackin' my daemon that way, you filth ball! I hope you ROT!" She backed away, face burning with anger, upset at the scare, and more than a little furious humiliation. Before she could be scolded or told off, she turned and stormed away, murmering and mumbling into her precious Gavidian's fur, relieved to have him close to her again. She kept on going, in fact, heading down a random road away from the garden, but she was headed instinctively for the part of town she was familiar with, where such spats were actually more common, more brutal, and generally ignored. It was still a long ways off, but she felt better leaving the glob of people behind. Would they report her? She thought about that, wondering if she'd have to go into hiding for a time. She'd had just cause...the sand cat had attacked first. She was defending her precious one. How dare he, anyway? Just letting that brute blatantly attack her soul...she remembered twice that heart-stopping terror, and huggled him closer to her throat, so they could share their beating hearts. "You're not six feet long, Gavi," she murmered, closing and pocketing the knife. "You're not six feet tall, Ranya," he replied softly, peering down at the scratches he'd left in her shirt. "I'm sorry...I made you bleed...I frightened you.." "No, love, hush now...hush. I'm fine. When that cat came at you, I was so afraid...but I didn't dare..." "I know...it's alright. She didn't hurt me, and you're okay...let's just hope that nasty boy stays away. If that cat ever bothers you again, though, I'll give her such a bite as she'll remember for ages. And next time she won't have a bunch of stupid friends helping her." "That's right...oh, and darling? My name is Fossil...remember that. Nobody must know me..." "Oh, of course..I'm sorry.." "Of course."

Katherine watched the fight dissolve, and she shook her head, wondering when others would learn.. no goodcomes of fighting. She muttered to Aluben "good thing we don't have to owrry about the pull" Aluben nodded, and Katherine said to Thom
"You shouldn't have let your dæmon pick the others up... Aluben would have, and given those two such a shock they'd come after me.' She chuckled a bit, and Aluben flew up, to see what was going on elsewhere. She waited for him, opening a small pouch attatched to her belt. Yup, it was still there.

At being picked up by an airborne dæmon, Shay was fighting mad. Julian had done his best to stay as close to the dragon dæmon as possible, close enough that he felt the unbearable pull but didn't collapse. The moment Shay was released, she did the same as Gavidian - she fled to her human. Julian hugged her tight against his chest, breath coming in shaken gasps.
"Why did you do that?" he hissed the moment he'd found his voice. "Why did you attack the squirrel dæmon like that?"
"I did what any dæmon would have done," Shay replied, her voice muffled by his jacket, but slightly irksome. "I defended you. I couldn't stand what she was saying ..."
"Then you ignore it! She's just some psychopath wandering around the streets, I don't have time to deal with people like her! All I want is to stay unnoticed, maybe for a little while, and you draw the entire street's attention to me?"
Shay pulled away a little, her green eyes meeting Julian's golden-brown ones. Finally she said sarcastically, "Well, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to defend your honour."
"Oh, shut up," he growled in return. He lifted his gaze to the mass of people and dæmons around him. Crowds made Julian very nervous. "You could have looked better in that fight, you know. Come on. I have to make sure that girl with the compass doesn't leave."

Lindy sighed, she was glad nobody got hurt badly in the fight. Her leg had already fallen asleep by being in a kneeling position behind the bush for so long.
Should we just wait for everyone to go before we get out from behind here, Beauet? It would look a bit strange for someone to come out from behind a bush... her daemon nodded in reply Just wait for the crowds to leave the garden. You shouldn't look more akward then you already are... he said, teasing her. "Very funny...." Lindy wispered back at her daemon.
