Ye Gods, don't get me started on Poetry and poets. Dickenson, Yeats, Tennyson, Angelou, Hughs, Dunbar, Frost, Kipling (I have a leatherbound book of Kipling older than the practice of putting copyrights into anthologies. The only date in there is for the intro, frm 1899. "When East meets West" is bloody Brilliant!)-- yeah.
My favorite poem, I think, is actually two poems written on a similar subject by two different poets. The first is Paul Lawrence Dunbar's "Sympathy," and the second is Maya Angelou's response, "I Know Why a Caged Bird Sings."
Back on topic...
This isnt my dæmon, and I'm not at liberty to say where it comes from right now, but the name Erostaigan is one I was hoping someone could look into.
All I could find was Eros is the Greek god of love, whom the Romans called Cupid. It is the root of words like 'erotic' and such.
BAH! I know there has to be more. I feel it. Does that make sense? Probably not... -_- But yeah.

Yes, Cupid is the Roman God of love, also known as Eros, son of Venus (or Aphrodite, if you prefer). Nothing else comes directly to mind by just looking at it...
Maybe it means something like, emotionally bound, or sensitive to emotion.

Well, I'd hazard to say it's just as likly to be some form of Greek, possibly connected to Erates and Erosmenos (Lover and Beloved). But then again, for all I know, it's Icelandic.

Alatariel isn't a real name, or at least I don't think so.. the only thing I can think of that's similar would be Andariel, which was a character in Diablo 2. o_0;
I have no idea. Alla's name is just that - Alla's name.

Kinda like how a -var at the end of a name would make me think of an eryien female or a -nar an eryien male. v_v No more reading for me.

The names of the angels are all from Hebrew - the suffix 'el' is a name for God. For example, Michael means 'who is like God' (phrased as a question). All the angels have names ending in el. ^^ See, I'm FalEL for a reason. ::grins:: Shut up, you. But he has a point - loosely translated, it's 'wonder of God'. ^^

*sticks tounge out at Alla* Nah nah. I was right. Eat that, El-arairah! ;D
EDIT: Okies, then. On topic for us, "Kryii" (likly spelled differently) means something like "pay attention! YO!!!" in "Jafa" from Stargate: SG1. Yet, I had never seen that show when I named her...
And it does kind of fit. Weird, neh?

In case ya can't guess my daemon's name is Loki which is the name of the Norse god of trickery, destruction, lies, and deceit. True, you do help me come up with good lies...and you're a good trickster. Hm, it seems to fit. You'd be too lazy to change it anyway. And once again you are completely correct.

Aw, thanks Cat. You made Loki all warm and fuzzy inside. I'm so glad there's another mythology freak out there. It's not nice to call people 'freaks', Zephyr. I mean it in the best possible way. Besides, I said 'another'. I'm including myself with that.

My question is, why isn't there a Loki-day? I mean, if the weekdays were named after Norse gods and such. (Freya's day, Thor's day, etc.) So why no Loki day? o.o In the eighth grade, my friend and I decided that every other Monday can be Loki-day. XD So, in advance for tomorrow - happy Loki-day, Loki.

Loki Day? Oh, no... In honor of MY day tomorrow I demand to be worshipped as if I WAS the Norse god. I also want fudge cake and mint chocolate chip ice cream whenever I want it. ;D Two problems, genius. Number one, you can't eat. Number two, we have exams tomorrow, the day after that, AND the day after that. Then we're out for summer! Thank goodness....
